A student should be able to apply the knowledge learned in this course to:
Instruct a Policyholder during the initial claim loss call what duties are required to prevent additional water damage to their property and reduce the loss settlement costs to comply with Homeowner Policy Section 1- Conditions, Your Duties After A Loss.
Initiate emergency mitigation steps to minimize or eliminate unnecessary additional living expenses as a result of the premises becoming uninhabitable referenced in the Homeowners Policy, Coverage C - Loss of Use.
Identify the destructive nature of water damages to the dwelling and content items.
Recognize the health, safety, and hazard issues relevant to the building occupants when water damages occur.
Improve communication with the Policyholder and contractor regarding professional cleaning and restoration processes and facilitate timely and cost effective claim evaluation and settlement.
Recognize the continuing effects of water damages in a building caused by primary and secondary damage.
Relate the serious health and safety issues involved with sewage water to the Policyholder.
