PuroClean Celebrates Akinyemis’ Award-Winning Public Relations Success in Westchester and Beyond

PuroClean Acknowledges Lydia and Taiwo Akinyemi with Public Relations Excellence Award

Local PuroClean co-owners, Lydia and Taiwo Akinyemi, were awarded the Public Relations Excellence Award at the annual PuroClean International Convention. The Akinyemis, husband-and-wife team and co-owners of PuroClean of Southern Westchester, were selected out of over 500 PuroClean locations for their outstanding commitment to elevating the PuroClean brand nationally and throughout their local community through impactful media engagement and public relations initiatives.

Taiwo and Lydia joined PuroClean in 2017, each bringing a strong background in finance. What drew them to PuroClean wasn’t just the business opportunity; it was their shared desire to help people in times of need. Longtime residents of the Westchester community, where they’ve lived for over 25 years, the Akinyemis are deeply rooted in the area they serve. They are also proud parents of two children.

Lydia and Taiwo launched PuroClean of Southern Westchester in Ardsley, New York, with a clear mission: to make a difference in their neighbors’ lives during their most difficult moments. That mission has fueled their tireless efforts to represent the PuroClean brand with authenticity. The Akinyemis received the award in recognition of their proactive public relations efforts, heartfelt storytelling, and outstanding partnership with PuroClean’s PR partner, Franchise Elevator.

“Receiving the Public Relations Excellence Award is a deeply meaningful honor,” said Lydia Akinyemi. “It’s a testament to our dedication, passion, purpose, and trust we’ve worked hard to build with our community, and we’re incredibly proud to represent the values of PuroClean in everything we do.”

The Public Relations Excellence award, introduced at the 2024 PuroClean International Convention, recognizes Franchise Owners who go above and beyond in sharing their journey, showcasing the brand’s core values, and building a strong PR presence in both their local community and national media. The Akinyemis and their team have embraced this role wholeheartedly, engaging in media opportunities, participating in in-depth interviews, and offering invaluable insights on leadership, entrepreneurship, and the advancement of women in the restoration industry.

“Lydia and Taiwo have been remarkable advocates for the PuroClean brand,” said Steve White, President and COO of PuroClean. “They have demonstrated strong business leadership, and a deep understanding of how thoughtful public engagement can uplift our entire franchise network. Their work sets the standard for how our Franchise Owners can authentically share their stories and amplify their impact.”

Lydia’s dedication to visibility and representation has led to high-profile media recognition. She was recently featured in a video interview in Cleanfax Magazine as a standout female leader in the industry and profiled in Home Business Magazine for her journey breaking barriers in a male-dominated field. Her leadership philosophy —centered around empowerment, accountability, and team development —has not only propelled her business forward but also positioned PuroClean as a trusted service provider for those seeking property restoration and remediation.
