Here in Colorado, we have a very interesting climate. The air is dry, we do not have a ton of flood plains, and we are certainly as far away from sea level as you can get.   1. Turn Your Water Off: If you know exactly where the water is coming from, for example, a dishwasher<\/a>, Or washing machine<\/a>, turn the water supply off at the source. Otherwise, find the Main Water Shutoff Valve<\/a>, and shut it off.<\/li>\n
  2. Open Your Windows: Colorado<\/strong> has a very dry climate, opening windows allows that dry air in, and the humid air out. Make sure only to do this if it is not inexplicably humid (we all know this is rare in\u00a0Denver<\/strong>)<\/li>\n
  3. If the carpet is wet, remove any contents that may transfer dyes, for example; clothing, bedding, toys, wooden furniture, and trash. This will keep the dyes from transferring onto your carpet causing permanent stains. Place clear plastic sheeting under anything touching the carpet that can’t be moved out, especially anything with metal footings.
