Water losses are characterized by three categories. The following is a summary of the different categories.
-Category 1 or “Clean Water” – this is a water loss that was caused by a clean water source, such as a sink overflow.
-Category 2 or “Gray Water” – this kind of loss would be caused by a non-sanitary water source and could potentially be harmful, such as a toilet overflow.
-Category 3 or “Black Water” – this is a contaminated water source, that often times could be harmful if not remedied by a professional. An example of this would be a sewage back up or an outside water source, such as flood water.
