“Coronavirus” is an umbrella term for many types of viruses that have been known to cause respiratory diseases in both people and animals. It has been widely reported that the spread of COVID-19 is caused by individuals who are in close contact with each other (within about 6 feet), through the projected respiratory droplets that are blown into the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes. The tiny droplets land in the mouths or noses of others who are nearby. It is also possible for these droplets to be inhaled into the lungs. This is why COVID-19 is believed to spread mainly from person-to-person.
As stated by the CDC, there is a possibility that someone can contract COVID-19 by touching a surface or object with the virus on it and then placing their hand on their own mouth, nose, or even their eyes.
Puroclean technicians will need to determine what level of containment you will require and discuss with you a plan of action. This is the initial step they will take when they complete a full assessment of your premises.
Initially, Puroclean professionals will arrive at your home or business and conduct a preliminary inspection to check that the area is ready for our cleaning services. Afterwards the workflow is determined by our technicians, in order to do the required work as quickly as possible.
It is key to perform biohazard abatement with special attention to safety and industry and OSHA guidelines. Our trained technicians wear special Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to keep themselves safe. They also identify the area, taking the needed steps to keep you and your family or employees safe as well.
PPE is a requirement that our trained professionals follow thoroughly. While on your job performing cleaning, all technicians will wear these PPE items: A full-face respirator provides protection from splashes that may contact the mucous membranes in the mouth, nose, or eyes. Our professionals will also wear Nitrile gloves, Biohazard protective coveralls and covers on their shoes.
Specific use towelettes are used that also conform to OSHA’s bloodborne pathogen standard against diseases like the coronavirus and numerous more diseases, bacteria, mold, mildew, tuberculosis, and viruses. These and other cleaning supplies put to use by our industry certified technicians are all hospital grade and EPA-registered disinfectants.
The cleaning materials our technicians typically use include:
Puroclean uses three methods when using these disinfectants. Depending on the circumstances, technicians apply hospital grade, EPA-registered disinfectants in one of these three methods:
Synthetic carpets, rugs, curtains, and upholstery – Our technicians will either clean these items manually or, for machine cleaning, the technicians will apply approved disinfectants for textiles and carpets and then remove stains where applicable.
Natural fabric rugs, carpets, curtains and upholstery: These items are to be cleaned in exact accordance with the manufacturer’s labeled instructions.
To disinfect clothing, linens and other personal fabrics, the infected articles should be cleaned per label instructions. IMPORTANT NOTE: Washing machines need to be disinfected after washing contaminated materials.
Tanned leather materials – We can clean these materials by wiping the surfaces with a cloth lightly moistened with disinfectant solution or disinfectant towelettes.
Nu-buck and suede leather material: These items are to be cleaned in accordance with the manufacturer’s instruction.
Plywood, wood, block, cinder block, concrete and OSB (Oriented Strand Board): Cleaned by the application of disinfectant solution onto the surface.
HVAC System: Industry guidelines should be obeyed for the cleaning of HVAC internal ducts surfaces and components; by a licensed HVAC contractor or NADCA certified duct cleaner. Also, the outside ductwork, registers, grates, grills and surfaces are to be cleaned using a disinfectant solution.
Typically, once the affected area is cleaned and starts to dry, odors dissipate. However, our crew will determine when further deodorization is necessary.
We understand that a biohazard event can be stressful and sensitive and must be handled with empathy, care and discretion. PuroClean restoration professionals are fully licensed and certified to follow all applicable laws and standards to remediate incidents safely.
RESPECTFUL: Our biohazard cleaning technicians treat every affected area and item respectfully and professionally, as if it were our own.
HIGHEST STANDARDS: PuroClean uses products that are approved to provide protection, prevent contamination and reduce the risk of spreading dangerous pathogens.
ADVANCED CLEANING SYSTEM: PuroClean RapidDefense is an innovative procedure that is used to start the disinfection process of public areas in the most effective way possible. Our system uses disinfectants that help prevent virus and other pathogen-based contamination in nearby areas.
EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant will be used to clean all cleaning implements that was used during the coronavirus cleanup. Before leaving the site that was contaminated with the coronavirus we will conduct this meticulous cleaning.
Per the CDC, Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces are the recommended actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, like coronavirus. Since any surface can be re-contaminated after cleaning, and because the coronavirus is also spread person-to-person, PuroClean’s services are not guaranteed to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html) for more information regarding coronavirus, its spread, and prevention.
