JULIE HOLTON: The holiday season is just around the corner and that means it’s time to safety proof our decorations. Steve Scott of PuroClean is here, Steve the last thing we need is a fire over the holidays.
STEVE SCOTT: When you start plugging in lights and space heaters along with normal household appliances, it can lead to overloaded circuits. We have some tips for you for a safe holiday season. Don’t overload extension cords or allow them to run through the water or on the ground, extension cords should not be used in place of permanent wiring or used for more than one item, multiple plug outlets must be plugged directly into the wall, not another multi-plug outlet or extension cord, and of course never use a cord that feels hot or is damaged
