STEVE SCOTT: Black mold is a type of fungi that can easily be spotted because of its greenish black color. Toxic black mold exposure can cause serious health problems like skin infections, flu-like illness, and pneumonia. This is why it can be very dangerous to ignore toxic black mold in your home.

STEVE SCOTT: Toxic black mold typically grows in warm damp areas. The most common areas are the basement, bathroom, & the kitchen.
JULIE HOLTON: So how do we prevent black mold?
STEVE SCOTT: Controlling moisture levels is the key. Keep your home dry, Fix leaks in the walls, roofs, gutters, and pipes. Prevent condensation by reducing humidity and ventilating appliances. Keep in mind that services larger than 10 square feet require a professional.
