“Coronavirus” is an umbrella term for many types of viruses that have been known to cause respiratory diseases in both people and animals. The 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19; previously 2019-nCoV) is a new strain that has been recently discovered and publicized worldwide. PuroClean of Howell uses the PuroClean RapidDefense™ Program system to provide deep mitigation cleaning in areas compromised by a Coronavirus or Influenza outbreak. Using this process, the team at PuroClean of Howell will carefully contain the area and will minimize the risk of pathogens spreading using The Environmental Protection Agency-registered (EPA) products. If there are any lingering odors, our trained technicians will deodorize the area and return your Howell area property back to its pre-loss condition with empathy and care.
As the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread and health and government officials notify individuals to take appropriate precautions to protect themselves, one of the best ways to slow its progression is by performing deep mitigation cleaning of all touch-point surfaces, while also using an EPA-registered disinfectant. These cleaning procedures can be used for institutions, commercial, and residential properties. Our coronavirus cleaning services will limit contamination related to the COVID-19 outbreak. Call your local PuroClean office for more information on how we can help clean your affected area.
Individuals that are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet) are at the highest risk of spreading COVID-19 in a “person-to-person” manner. Small respiratory droplets projected through coughing or sneezing produce small particles that can land on the nose or mouth or be inhaled into the lungs of someone nearby. This is most commonly how COVID-19 spreads quickly. Therefore, it is believed that person-to-person is the most common way the disease spreads.
It may be possible for someone to get the COVID-19 virus after touching a surface with the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or eyes. The CDC confirms the high probability of the disease being spread in this manner.
To begin, we conduct a full assessment of your home or office. We will determine the containment level needed and inform you of our action plan.
Initially, our technicians arrive at the job site and do an initial inspection to ensure that the area is ready for cleaning services. Then, they map out the flow of the work to do the work as efficiently as possible.
It’s imperative that our employees conduct all biohazard removal with the utmost caution and a strict adherence to OSHA, Industry and safety standards. Our highly trained staff will contain areas, practicing all appropriate steps to ensure your safety, your family’s safety and the employees safety alike. The well trained technicians will be wearing special Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to work on biohazard removal as carefully as possible.
All of the PuroClean professionals are required to wear PPE. The protective equipment includes a full-face respirator which protects from any type of splashes reaching the mucous membranes in the mouth, nose, and eyes. Additionally, our technicians wear Biohazard protective coveralls, Nitrile gloves, and shoe covers.
Our trained professionals are fully trained and certified and use hospital grade disinfectant solutions that are EPA-registered. The products include towelettes, containing pharmaceutical substances, meeting OSHA’s bloodborne pathogen standard against diseases like the coronavirus and much more that cause disease. The ingredients also protect against viruses, tuberculosis, mildew, and mold.
The cleaning materials our technicians typically use include:
Depending on the circumstances, Puroclean technicians apply EPA-registered hospital grade disinfectants using three methods.
Synthetic curtains, upholstery and rugs: PuroClean technicians will clean these items manually or apply approved disinfectants for machine washing for these carpets and textiles and conduct needed extraction where necessary.
Natural fabrics, curtains, upholstery and rugs require cleaning that is in accordance with the guidelines of the manufacturer.
To disinfect clothing, linens and other personal fabrics, the infected articles should be cleaned per label instructions. IMPORTANT NOTE: Washing machines need to be disinfected after washing soiled materials.
Tanned leather materials – PuroClean will clean these material items by wiping the surfaces with a lightly moistened towel and disinfectant solutions or disinfectant towelettes.
Suede and Nu-buck leather material – Cleaned following the manufacturer’s guidelines.
Concrete, cinder block, wood, plywood, and oriented strand board (OSB) – Cleansed by applying the disinfectant solution directly onto the surface.
HVAC systems: The internal duct surfaces of the HVAC system and components should be cleaned by a licensed HVAC contractor or a duct cleaner who is NADCA certified in accordance with industry guidelines. Additionally, external ductwork grates, grills, surfaces and registers are to be cleaned with disinfectant solution.
Our crew shall make the decision whether further cleaning and deodorization will be needed. However, typically once the infected locations are cleaned and start to dry, the odors will go away.
We understand that a biohazard event can be sensitive and stressful and must be handled with empathy, care and discretion. PuroClean restoration professionals are fully licensed and certified to follow all applicable laws and standards to remediate incidents safely.
RESPECTFUL: Our certified biohazard cleaning technicians treat every affected area and item professionally and respectfully, as if it were our own.
HIGHEST STANDARDS: PuroClean uses products that are approved to provide protection, reduce the risk of spreading pathogens and prevent contamination.
ADVANCED CLEANING SYSTEM: Our RapidDefense process sanitizes and even helps prevent virus and other pathogen-based contamination in nearby areas. This is an innovative process that we use in order to disinfect public places the most effective way possible.
Prior to vacating a project site in which the coronavirus had affected, the PuroClean technicians will perform a full and complete washing of all equipment, tools, and PPE that were used for the coronavirus cleanup using an EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant.
Per the CDC, Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces are the recommended actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, like coronavirus. Since any surface can be re-contaminated after cleaning, and because the coronavirus is also spread person-to-person, PuroClean’s services are not guaranteed to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html) for more information regarding coronavirus, its spread, and prevention.
