I purchased what I thought was my dream home even though I could see mold around the Jacuzzi, and had a mold test done which was positive. The mold test showed mold that wasn't terribly toxic so I decided to take a chance on the remediation being simple. It turned out that after demolition of the bathroom, and scrubbing and treatment, the mold test was still not clear, and more mold was found, all the way to the exterior of the house and on an interior wall into an adjoining office. I was out of town on a family emergency, and totally freaked out by this news, wondering if I would be rebuilding the whole house. This time, after the demolition, scrubbing and treatment, the mold test came back clear, and the reconstruction has begun.
