An Influx of Fires Has PuroClean Feeling the Heat

Fire Restoration

Most people have come to expect water damage as a problem they will have to deal with at some point during homeownership. Leaks are typically a more common occurrence. Fire damage, on the other hand, is something we don’t usually make a plan for. A fire can swiftly blaze through a home, destroying everything and leaving even more chaos in its wake.

We Didn’t Start the Fire.

While rarer than water damage, fires do occur, and they can be devastating. Over the past two months, our Hoboken team has experienced an influx of calls for fire damage (five to be exact!) from the Jersey Shore to Bergen County. Although we follow the same basic procedure for each job, each fire presents unique issues and obstacles.

When we get called in to assist with the aftermath of a fire, we first assess the entire situation and the damage done. Our professional technicians remove any items that can not be saved and secure the property from uninvited visitors. Our technicians then work to remove excess water and dry any affected areas to avoid further water damage. Once everything is dry, the next steps include removing soot, biological and chemical pollutants, and smoke odor from surfaces. Finally, the smoke, dust, and debris are extracted, and the sanitation process begins.

Usually, we only deal with this type of job occasionally, but receiving five of these jobs in just a couple of months has been quite the undertaking. Fortunately, we have a stellar team that has risen to the occasion. There is still plenty of work to be done, but we finished demolitions on each property and are currently rebuilding and getting our customers back into their homes.

But We Tried to Fight It.

Fires are abrupt and traumatic, causing problems well past the last flame’s extinguishment. If you find yourself in this unfortunate situation, immediately after contacting the proper emergency responders, call PuroClean of Hoboken: (201) 868-4817.
