“Coronavirus” is an umbrella term for many types of viruses that have been known to cause respiratory diseases in both people and animals. The 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19; previously 2019-nCoV) is a new strain that has been recently discovered and publicized worldwide. PuroClean of McLean and West Falls Church uses the PuroClean RapidDefense™ system to provide deep mitigation cleaning in areas compromised by a Coronavirus or Influenza outbreak. Using this process, the team at PuroClean of McLean and West Falls Church will carefully contain the area and will minimize the risk of pathogens spreading using The Environmental Protection Agency-registered (EPA) products. If there are any lingering odors, our trained technicians will deodorize the area and return your McLean, Arlington, or Tyson’s Corner area property back to its pre-loss condition with empathy and care.
Since the The COVID-19 outbreak keeps growing rapidly, health and government leaders are publicly addressing the world daily, asking that each individual practice the safe means necessary to protect themselves. A very effective practice to slow the virus from spreading is by the performance of deep mitigation cleaning on all touch-point surfaces, along with using EPA-registered disinfectants. These particular cleaning procedures can be beneficial for institutions, commercial, and residential properties. PuroClean’s McLean, Arlington, and Tyson’s Corner coronavirus cleaning services can help drastically reduce contamination related to the COVID-19 outbreak. Call your local PuroClean professionals for more information on our all of the services we offer.
It has been widely reported that the spread of COVID-19 is prevalent by individuals who are in close contact with each other (within about 6 feet), through the projected respiratory droplets that are blown into the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes. The tiny droplets land in the mouths or noses of others who are nearby. It is also possible for these droplets to be inhaled into the lungs. This is why COVID-19 is believed to spread mainly from person-to-person.
According to the CDC, it could likely be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes.
PuroClean will initially conduct a complete inspection of your home or office. PuroClean will then make a determination on the amount of containment required and speak to you about the plan of action.
Initially, Puroclean professionals will arrive at your location and perform a preliminary inspection to ensure the area is ready for our cleaning services. Afterwards the workflow is determined by PuroClean, in order to do the required work as expeditiously as possible.
It is of extreme importance to conduct biohazard removal while also paying strict attention to safety, industry and OSHA standards and guidelines. Our trained technicians wear special Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure your personal safety. PuroClean will also contain the area, taking the necessary steps to keep you and your family or employees safe as well.
All of the PuroClean professionals are required to wear PPE. This particular protective equipment includes a full-face respirator that provides protection from any type of splashes reaching the mucous membranes in the mouth, nose, and eyes. Additionally, our technicians wear Biohazard protective coveralls, Nitrile gloves, and shoe covers.
Our industry-certified professionals use EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant products, including towelettes, containing pharmaceutical ingredients that meet OSHA’s bloodborne pathogen standard against diseases like the coronavirus and more disease-causing bacteria, viruses, tuberculosis, mold, and mildew.
The typical cleaning materials used by our technicians include:
Depending on the circumstances, Puroclean technicians apply hospital grade and EPA-registered disinfectants using three techniques.
Synthetic carpets, rugs, curtains, and upholstery – Our technicians will either clean these items manually or, for machine cleaning, the technicians will apply approved disinfectants for textiles and carpets and then extract where applicable.
Natural fabrics, rugs, curtains, and upholstery must be cleaned in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
Important: Washing machines should always be disinfected after contaminated items are washed. For the disinfecting of clothing, linens and other personal fabrics, contaminated articles are to be laundered following instructions on every label.
Tanned leather items – We can clean these materials by wiping the surfaces with a cloth lightly moistened with disinfectant solution or disinfectant towelettes.
Suede and Nu-buck leather material – Cleaned according to manufacturer’s guidelines.
Plywood, wood, block, cinder block, concrete and OSB (Oriented Strand Board): Washed by the application of disinfectants onto the surface.
HVAC system – HVAC internal duct surfaces and components should be cleaned in accordance with industry guidelines by a licensed HVAC contractor or NADCA certified duct cleaner. External ductwork surfaces, grills, grates, and registers should be cleaned with a disinfectant solution.
It is common for odors to dissipate once the affected areas are cleaned and begin to dry. However, our trained professionals will decide if more cleaning and deodorizing is required.
We understand that a biohazard event can be sensitive and stressful and must be handled with empathy, care and discretion. PuroClean restoration professionals are fully licensed and certified to follow all applicable laws and standards to remediate incidents safely.
RESPECTFUL: Our certified biohazard cleaning technicians treat every affected area and item respectfully and professionally, as if it were their own.
HIGHEST STANDARDS: PuroClean uses products that are approved to provide protection, reduce the likelihood of spreading pathogens and prevent contamination.
ADVANCED CLEANING SYSTEM: Our RapidDefense process disinfects and even reduces virus and other pathogen-based contamination in nearby areas. This is an innovative procedure we use in order to sanitize public places the most effective way possible.
Before PuroClean professionals vacate a property that had been contaminated by the coronavirus, they will completely clean all tools, PPE, and cleaning items that were used during the coronavirus cleanup, using a hospital-grade, EPA-registered disinfectant.
Per the CDC, Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces are the recommended actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, like coronavirus. Since any surface can be re-contaminated after cleaning, and because the coronavirus is also spread person-to-person, PuroClean’s services are not guaranteed to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html) for more information regarding coronavirus, its spread, and prevention.
