“Coronavirus” is an umbrella term for many types of viruses that have been known to cause respiratory diseases in both people and animals. The 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19; previously 2019-nCoV) is a new strain that has been recently discovered and publicized worldwide. PuroClean of Middlesex uses the PuroClean RapidDefense™ Program system to provide deep mitigation coronavirus cleanup. Using this process, the team at PuroClean of Middlesex will carefully contain the area and minimize the risk of pathogens spreading using The Environmental Protection Agency-registered (EPA) products. If there are any lingering odors, our trained technicians will deodorize the area, complete coronavirus cleanup, and return your Middlesex, NJ area property to its pre-loss condition with empathy and care.
An extremely effective way to slow the spread of the virus is by the deep mitigation coronavirus cleanup. This level of cleaning can be done in commercial properties, institutions and residential homes alike. Right now, the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread, causing government leaders and healthcare experts to compel the public to take every available precaution for personal protection. The coronavirus cleanup services we offer assists in reducing contamination risk related to the COVID-19 outbreak. Contact your local PuroClean office for additional information regarding how we can assist you in the cleaning of your property.
“Person-to-Person” is thought to be the most widely known way COVID-19 spreads between people. This happens with people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet). Droplets produced by the respiratory system when an infected person coughs or sneezes land on the face, mouths or noses of people nearby. Furthermore, these droplets can be inhaled into lungs.
According to the CDC, it may be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or even their eyes.
To begin, we provide a full assessment of your property. We will determine the containment level needed and inform you of the plan of action.
PuroClean will need to determine the workflow in order to complete your cleanup project as quickly as possible. When they first arrive at your location they will conduct a precursory inspection of your property to make sure it is ready for cleaning so as to complete this step quickly and efficiently.
It is important to perform biohazard removal with strict attention to safety and industry and OSHA guidelines. Our trained staff wear special Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to keep themselves safe. They also contain the area, taking the appropriate steps to keep you and your family or employees out of harm’s way as well.
First, wearing proper PPE is required. Our cleanup technicians wear a full-face respirator to guard against infected particles coming in contact with the mucous membranes of the mouth, nose, or eyes. PuroClean professionals also wear Biohazard protective coveralls, shoe covers, and Nitrile gloves.
Our industry certified technicians use EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant products, such as towelettes, containing pharmaceutical ingredients that adhere to OSHA’s bloodborne pathogen standard against diseases like the coronavirus and other disease-causing bacteria, viruses, tuberculosis, mold, and mildew.
The cleaning materials commonly used by our technicians include:
EPA-registered and hospital grade disinfectants are used during this process. Depending on the circumstances, we generally use these methods:
Synthetic carpets, rugs, curtains, and upholstery – Our technicians will either clean these items manually or, for machine cleaning, they will apply approved disinfectants for textiles and carpets and then remove stains where applicable.
Natural fabrics, rugs, curtains, and upholstery must be cleaned in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines.
Disinfecting linens, clothing and personal fabrics: The instructions on each label should be followed when laundering the contaminated items. Note: Remember to disinfect washing machines following washing contaminated clothing.
Tanned leather materials – We can clean these materials by wiping the surfaces with a lightly moistened cloth with disinfectant solution or disinfectant towelettes.
Nu-buck and suede leather material: These garments are to be cleaned in accordance with the manufacturer’s instruction.
Concrete, cinder block, wood, plywood, and oriented strand board (OSB) – Cleansed by applying the disinfectant solution directly onto the surface.
HVAC system – External ductwork surfaces, grills, grates, and registers shall be cleaned with a disinfectant solution. The interior surfaces of HVAC ductwork and components should be cleaned in accordance with industry guidelines by a licensed HVAC contractor or NADCA certified duct cleaner.
Typically, when the infected area is cleaned and begins to dry, odors will go away. However, our crew will determine if further deodorization is required.
We understand that a biohazard event can be stressful and sensitive and must be handled with empathy, care and discretion. PuroClean restoration professionals are fully licensed and certified to follow all applicable laws and standards to remediate incidents safely.
RESPECTFUL: Our biohazard cleaning technicians treat every affected area and item professionally and respectfully, as if it were their own.
HIGHEST STANDARDS: PuroClean uses products that are approved to provide protection, prevent contamination and reduce the risk of spreading dangerous pathogens.
ADVANCED CLEANING SYSTEM: Our RapidDefense system sanitizes and even helps prevent virus and other pathogen-based contamination in nearby areas. This is an innovative process that we use in order to disinfect public areas the most effective way possible.
Before leaving a site that has been infected with the coronavirus, our team will do a complete cleaning of all equipment and tools used in the coronavirus cleanup with an EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant.
Per the CDC, Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces are the recommended actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, like coronavirus. Since any surface can be re-contaminated after cleaning, and because the coronavirus is also spread person-to-person, PuroClean’s services are not guaranteed to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html) for more information regarding coronavirus, its spread, and prevention.
