Spring Maintenance Tips

Welcome spring! While we are focusing on spring cleaning the inside of our homes, it is also a great time to inspect and improve the exterior of our homes.  While the weather is nice, it is a great time to spend some time working on maintenance tasks to help keep our homes safe throughout the year. We have compiled a list of tips to help maintain the exterior of your home.

1. Gutters and Downspouts – Be sure to clean your gutters and remove any debris or leaves.  You will also want to check the downspouts to ensure there is not any build up in there.
2. Roof – Check your roof for any loose or damaged shingles. Use caution when getting on your roof. If repairs need to be made, you will want to hire a professional roofing company.
3. Exterior Paint – Check for any peeling paint around the exterior of your home. If you have rotted wood, you will want to have that repaired.
4. Landscape – Spring is a great time to ensure your lawn is maintained. Trim your shrubs and prune loose branches.
5. Drainage – Check to make sure there is not standing water near the foundation of your home.
