“Coronavirus” is an umbrella term for many types of viruses that have been known to cause respiratory diseases in both people and animals. The 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19; previously 2019-nCoV) is a new strain that has been recently discovered and publicized worldwide. PuroClean of Nashville uses the PuroClean RapidDefense™ system to provide deep mitigation cleaning in areas compromised by a Coronavirus or Influenza outbreak. Using this process, the team at PuroClean of Nashville will carefully contain the area and will minimize the risk of pathogens spreading using The Environmental Protection Agency-registered (EPA) products. If there are any lingering odors, our trained technicians will deodorize the area and return your Nashville, TN area property back to its pre-loss condition with empathy and care.
As the coronavirus pandemic continues to rise and health and government leaders notify people to take all the steps to protect themselves, one of the best ways to slow its progression is by performing deep mitigation cleaning of all touch-point surfaces, along with the use of an EPA-registered disinfectant. These cleaning procedures can be an option for institutions, commercial, and residential properties. Our coronavirus cleaning services will help reduce contamination related to the COVID-19 outbreak. Call your local PuroClean office with any questions on how we can help clean your property.
The virus is believed to spread mainly from person-to-person. This includes between people who are close to one another (within about 6 feet) and through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. The droplets then can land in the mouths or noses of those who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs.
It may be possible for an individual to get the COVID-19 virus after touching a surface with the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or eyes. The CDC confirms the possibility of the disease being spread in this manner.
We begin by completing a full assessment of your home or office premises. We will then decide what level of containment you should have and pass on the action plan to you.
When we arrive at your home or business we’ll do a walkthrough to confirm the area is ready for PuroClean’s cleaning services. We will then determine the flow of work and perform the tasks as efficiently as possible.
It is key to perform biohazard removal with special attention to safety and industry and OSHA guidelines. Our trained staff wear special Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to keep themselves safe. They also contain the area, taking the appropriate steps to keep you and your family or employees out of harm’s way as well.
All of our trained technicians are required to wear PPE. The protective equipment includes a full-face respirator which protects from any type of splashes contacting the mucous membranes in the mouth, nose, and eyes. Additionally, our technicians wear Biohazard protective coveralls, Nitrile gloves, and shoe covers.
PuroClean’s technicians are fully trained and certified and use hospital grade disinfectant products that are EPA-registered. These products include towelettes, containing pharmaceutical substances, meeting OSHA’s bloodborne pathogen standards against diseases like the coronavirus and other bacteria that lead to disease. The ingredients also protect against viruses, tuberculosis, mildew, and mold.
The cleaning materials commonly used by our technicians include:
EPA-registered and hospital grade disinfectants are used during this cleaning phase. Depending on the project needs, we generally use the following methods:
Synthetic carpets, rugs, curtains, and upholstery – Our technicians will either clean these items manually or, for machine cleaning, the technicians will apply approved disinfectants for textiles and carpets and then extract where applicable.
Natural fabric rugs, carpets, curtains and upholstery: These items are to be cleaned in strict accordance with the manufacturer’s labeled instructions.
To disinfect clothing, linens and other personal fabrics, the contaminated articles should be laundered per label instructions. NOTE: washing machines should be thoroughly cleaned after washing contaminated materials.
Leather tanned materials: PuroClean will clean these materials by using disinfectant towelettes for wiping the surfaces with a lightly dampened cloth.
Suede and Nu-buck leather items – Cleaned following manufacturer’s guidelines.
Plywood, OSB (oriented strand board), concrete and cinder block: These particular items are cleaned by the application of the disinfectant solution directly on the surface.
HVAC systems: The internal duct surfaces of the HVAC system and components should be cleaned by a licensed HVAC contractor or a duct cleaner who is NADCA certified in accordance with industry guidelines. Also, external ductwork grates, grills, surfaces and registers are to be cleaned with disinfectant solution.
It is common for odors to dissipate when the affected areas are cleaned and begin to dry. However, the PuroClean technicians will make the determination if further cleaning and deodorizing is required.
We understand that a biohazard event can be stressful and sensitive and must be handled with empathy, care and discretion. PuroClean restoration professionals are fully licensed and certified to follow all applicable laws and standards to remediate incidents safely.
RESPECTFUL: Our certified biohazard cleaning technicians treat every affected area and item professionally and respectfully, as if it were their own.
HIGHEST STANDARDS: PuroClean uses products that are approved to provide protection, reduce the risk of spreading pathogens and prevent contamination.
ADVANCED CLEANING SYSTEM: PuroClean RapidDefense is an innovative procedure that is used to start the disinfection process of public areas the most effective way possible. Our process uses disinfectants that help prevent virus and other pathogen-based contamination in areas nearby.
Before leaving a site that was once infected with the coronavirus, our technicians will do a complete cleaning of all tools, equipment, and PPE used in the coronavirus cleanup with an EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant.
Per the CDC, Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces are the recommended actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, like coronavirus. Since any surface can be re-contaminated after cleaning, and because the coronavirus is also spread person-to-person, PuroClean’s services are not guaranteed to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html) for more information regarding coronavirus, its spread, and prevention.
