Hurricane Laura was the first of what was unfortunately many major hurricanes to form in the 2020 season. It made landfall as a Category 4 storm over Louisiana on August 27th, where it tied the record for the 10th strongest hurricane to ever make landfall in the United States. It had sustained wind speeds of 150 mph, which caused catastrophic damage to everything in its path. Many areas are still feeling the effects of this storm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

PuroClean Uses The Latest Tech To Assess Water Damage<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A family living in Sulphur, LA called PuroClean of Boerne to assess and mitigate water damage<\/a> in their home. Although it had been months since Hurricane Laura had passed through, this home still had substantial water damage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our team drove from Boerne and arrived in full PPE, ready to use our state-of-the-art technology for the job. The main goal was to find the exact locations with water damage and specify the amount of moisture content within those damaged areas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In order to locate the pockets of moisture, we used FLIR thermal imaging cameras. After scanning the house, most of the remaining water was found in the ceiling. Water lowers the temperature of affected areas, and therefore, it is easily identifiable when viewed in thermal images. This technology helped speed up the process of the assessment and in turn the insurance claim, much to the appreciation of the clients. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once our crew had located the water, we were able to complete the restoration in a very timely manner. Overall, the entire job took just about 4 days. The clients were very thankful for the work we provided. And, they stated that they would happily refer our services to others in need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
