“Coronavirus” is an umbrella term for many types of viruses that have been known to cause respiratory diseases in both people and animals. The 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19; previously 2019-nCoV) is a new strain that has been recently discovered and publicized worldwide. PuroClean of Fleming Island uses the PuroClean RapidDefense™ system to provide deep mitigation cleaning in areas compromised by a Coronavirus or Influenza outbreak. Using this process, the team at PuroClean of Fleming Island will carefully contain the area and will minimize the risk of pathogens spreading using The Environmental Protection Agency-registered (EPA) products. If there are any lingering odors, our trained technicians will deodorize the area and return your North Florida, FL area property back to its pre-loss condition with empathy and care.
As the coronavirus pandemic continues to rise and health and government officials notify people to take necessary measures to protect themselves, one of the best ways to slow its spread is by performing deep mitigation cleaning of all touch-point surfaces, along with the use of an EPA-registered disinfectant. These methods of cleaning can be utilized for institutions, commercial, and residential properties. Our coronavirus cleaning services will limit contamination related to the COVID-19 outbreak. Call your local PuroClean office for more information on how we can help clean your affected area.
“Person-to-Person” has appeared to be the most common way COVID-19 spreads between people. This takes place with people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet). Droplets produced by the respiratory system when an infected person coughs or sneezes land on the face, mouths or noses of anyone within range. Also, these droplets can be inhaled into lungs.
There is a possibility that COVID-19 can be spread when an individual physically touches an object or surface with the virus present, then touches their nose or mouth. The CDC confirms that this type of spreading is highly likely.
Puroclean technicians will set out to determine what level of containment you will require and discuss with you a plan of action. This is the initial step taken when a complete and full assessment of your home or office.
Initially, Puroclean technicians will arrive at your location and perform a preliminary inspection to make sure the area is prepared for our cleaning services. Afterwards the workflow is determined by our technicians, in order to complete the project as expeditiously as possible.
While Puroclean is working on biohazard removal, special focus and adherence to safety, industry, and OSHA standards is highly important. Also, our biohazard removal is done by technicians who will wear appropriate protective equipment, also known as PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). PuroClean will section off the areas to undergo the cleaning process, using caution so as to protect customers, their families, and PuroClean employees.
PPE is a requirement that our trained professionals follow thoroughly. While on the jobsite conducting cleaning, all technicians will wear the following: A full-face respirator provides protection from splashes that may reach the mucous membranes in the mouth, nose, or eyes. Technicians also wear Nitrile gloves, Biohazard protective coveralls and covers on their shoes.
Our extensively trained and certified technicians use EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant products, including towelettes, with pharmaceutical ingredients that meet OSHA’s bloodborne pathogen standard against diseases like COVID-19 and other disease-causing bacteria, viruses, tuberculosis, mold, and mildew.
The most common cleaning materials used by our technicians include:
EPA-registered as well as hospital grade disinfectants are applied during this process. Depending on the project needs, we commonly use the following methods:
Synthetic rugs, carpets, curtains and upholstery: PuroClean will clean these items manually or by machine cleaning. Approved disinfectants for the appropriate cleaning of the textiles and carpet will be applied for the cleaning; spot removal will be done where needed.
Natural fabrics, rugs, curtains, and upholstery should be cleaned in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
For the disinfectant of clothing, linens and other personal fabrics, the contaminated articles should be laundered per label instructions. NOTE: washing machines should be disinfected after washing contaminated materials.
Tanned leather materials – We can clean these materials by wiping the surfaces with a lightly moistened cloth with disinfectant solution or disinfectant towelettes.
Suede and Nu-buck leather material – Cleaned according to manufacturer’s guidelines.
Plywood, OSB (oriented strand board), concrete and cinder block: These materials are cleaned by the application of the disinfectant solution directly on the surface.
HVAC System: Industry regulations should be obeyed for the cleaning of HVAC internal ducts surfaces and components; by a licensed HVAC contractor or NADCA certified duct cleaner. Also, the outside ductwork, registers, grates, grills and surfaces are to be washed using a disinfectant solution.
Normally, when the affected location has been cleaned and starts to dry, the odors go away. Our trained professionals will decide, however, whether any more deodorization is required.
We understand that a biohazard event can be stressful and sensitive and must be handled with empathy, care and discretion. PuroClean restoration professionals are fully licensed and certified to follow all applicable laws and standards to remediate incidents safely.
RESPECTFUL: Our experienced biohazard cleaning technicians treat every affected area and item professionally and respectfully, as if it were our own.
HIGHEST STANDARDS: PuroClean uses products that are approved to provide protection, reduce the risk of spreading pathogens and prevent contamination.
ADVANCED CLEANING SYSTEM: Our RapidDefense process disinfects and even reduces virus and other pathogen-based contamination in nearby areas. This is an innovative procedure we use in order to disinfect public places the most effective way possible.
EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant will be used to clean all cleaning implements that was used during the coronavirus cleanup. Prior to leaving the location that was contaminated with the coronavirus we will conduct this detailed cleaning.Per the CDC, Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces are the recommended actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, like coronavirus. Since any surface can be re-contaminated after cleaning, and because the coronavirus is also spread person-to-person, PuroClean’s services are not guaranteed to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html) for more information regarding coronavirus, its spread, and prevention.
