mold in plantation home

Mold Mayhem in a Plantation, FL Home!

Mold is a common property disaster that thrives in moisture-prone areas. Being in South Florida, Plantation-area homeowners and renters know they are at a higher risk of experiencing mold growth. Recently, a local homeowner called PuroClean to mitigate a massive – and potentially dangerous – mold infestation in their home.

Breaking the Mold… So We Can Cleanup

On December 18th, a client called us to their home in Plantation. There, we initially found traces of mold in 2 of the rooms plus a hallway. This scope of work required preparations. So, our capable crew, with the help of the homeowners, removed all the contents of the house. Next, we got to work installing containments for three rooms, a bathroom, and the wall in the hallway.

Next, came the ‘tough’ part: demolition. We needed to access and repair the source of the moisture beneath the hardwood floors. However, the typical demolition process encountered a challenge when we discovered the wood was actually glued to the concrete beneath. While not impossible, it did add an unexpected wrinkle.

Of course, we would not be deterred. With the containment set up and the hardwood removed, we were able to begin treating the home for mold. As we progressed, our technicians found additional traces of mold in 2 more rooms. This increased the total scope of the job to now include 4 rooms and the hallway.

We finished the cleaning on December 22nd and removed our equipment that day. And, on December 23rd, the house was assessed by a third-party testing company for any traces of mold. The test certified that there were no traces of mold present at any of the original locations. The owners, a lovely family of 4, thanked us for the speed of our work. They were very happy with the results.
