“Coronavirus” is an umbrella term for many types of viruses that have been known to cause respiratory diseases in both people and animals. The virus is believed to spread mainly from person-to-person. This includes between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet) and through respiratory droplets becoming airborne when an infected person coughs or sneezes. The droplets then can land in the mouths or noses of those who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs.
According to the CDC, it may be possible that a person can contract COVID-19 by coming into contact with a surface or object which has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or even their eyes.
To begin, we provide a full assessment of your home or office. We will determine the level of containment needed and inform you of the plan of action.
PuroClean technicians will arrive at your home or business and perform an initial walkthrough to confirm that the premises are ready for our cleaning. The technicians will map out a plan for the flow of work and conduct the full cleaning as efficiently as possible.
It is key to perform biohazard removal with special attention to safety and industry and OSHA guidelines. Our trained technicians wear special Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure their safety. They also contain the area, taking the appropriate steps to keep you and your family or employees out of harm’s way as well.
PPE is a requirement that our trained professionals follow thoroughly. While on your job completing our cleaning, our technicians will wear these PPE items: A full-face respirator provides protection from splashes that may contact the mucous membranes in the mouth, nose, or eyes. Our professionals will also wear Nitrile gloves, Biohazard protective coveralls and shoe covers.
Our industry certified technicians use EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant products, including towelettes, with pharmaceutical ingredients that adhere to OSHA’s bloodborne pathogen standard against diseases like COVID-19 and other disease-causing bacteria, viruses, tuberculosis, mold, and mildew.
The cleaning materials our technicians normally work with include:
EPA-registered as well as hospital grade disinfectants are applied during this cleaning phase. Depending on the circumstances, we commonly use these methods:
Synthetic carpets, rugs, curtains, and upholstery – Our technicians will either clean these items manually or, for machine cleaning, the technicians will apply approved disinfectants for textiles and carpets and then remove stains where applicable.
Natural fabrics, curtains, upholstery and rugs need cleaning that is in following with the guidelines of the manufacturer.
To disinfect clothing, linens and other personal fabrics, the contaminated articles should be laundered per label instructions. IMPORTANT NOTE: Washing machines need to be disinfected after washing soiled materials.
Leather tanned materials: PuroClean will clean these materials by using disinfectant towelettes for wiping the surfaces with a lightly dampened cloth.
Suede and Nu-buck leather material – These are to be cleaned according to the instructions of the manufacturer.
Plywood, wood, block, cinder block, concrete and OSB (Oriented Strand Board): Washed by the application of disinfectant solution onto the surface.
HVAC systems: The internal duct surfaces of the HVAC system and components should be cleaned by a licensed HVAC contractor or a duct cleaning specialist who is NADCA certified in accordance with industry standards. Also, externally located ductwork grates, grills, surfaces and registers will be cleaned with disinfectant solution.
Normally, when the affected location has been cleaned and begins to dry, the odors will disappear. Our trained professionals will decide, however, whether any further deodorization is required.
We understand that a biohazard event can be stressful and sensitive and must be handled with empathy, care and discretion. PuroClean restoration professionals are fully licensed and certified to follow all applicable laws and standards to remediate incidents safely.
RESPECTFUL: Our biohazard cleaning technicians treat every affected area and item professionally and respectfully, as if it were our own.
HIGHEST STANDARDS: PuroClean uses proven products approved to provide protection, prevent contamination and reduce the risk of spreading dangerous pathogens.
ADVANCED CLEANING SYSTEM: Our RapidDefense system sanitizes and even helps prevent virus and other pathogen-based contamination in nearby areas. This is an innovative procedure we use in order to sanitize public places as effectively as possible.
Before PuroClean professionals vacate a property that had been contaminated by the coronavirus, they will completely clean all tools, PPE, and equipment that was used during the coronavirus cleanup, using a hospital-grade, EPA-registered disinfectant.Per the CDC, Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces are the recommended actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, like coronavirus. Since any surface can be re-contaminated after cleaning, and because the coronavirus is also spread person-to-person, PuroClean’s services are not guaranteed to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
