“Coronavirus” is an umbrella term for many types of viruses that have been known to cause respiratory diseases in both people and animals. The 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19; previously 2019-nCoV) is a new strain that has been recently discovered and publicized worldwide. PuroClean of Northwest Rochester uses the PuroClean RapidDefense™ system to provide deep mitigation cleaning in areas compromised by a Coronavirus or Influenza outbreak.
Using this process, the team at PuroClean of Northwest Rochester will carefully contain the area and will minimize the risk of pathogens spreading using The Environmental Protection Agency-registered (EPA) products. If there are any lingering odors, our trained technicians will deodorize the area and return your Rochester, NY area property back to its pre-loss condition with empathy and care.
As the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread and health and government officials notify the public to take all the steps to protect themselves, one of the best ways to slow its spread is by performing deep mitigation cleaning of all touch-point surfaces, along with the use of an EPA-registered disinfectant. These methods of cleaning can be utilized for institutions, commercial, and residential properties. Our coronavirus cleaning services will limit contamination related to the COVID-19 outbreak. Call your local PuroClean office with any questions on how we can help clean your affected area.
It has been widely reported that the spread of COVID-19 is caused by individuals who are in close contact with each other (within about 6 feet), through small respiratory droplets that are blown into the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes. The tiny droplets end up in the mouths or noses of others who are nearby. It is also possible for these droplets to be inhaled into the lungs. This is why COVID-19 is believed to spread most prevalently from person-to-person.
It may be possible for people to get the COVID-19 virus after touching an area with the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or eyes. The CDC confirms the high probability of the disease spreading in this manner.
PuroClean will initially conduct a complete inspection of your home or office. PuroClean will then make a determination on the level of containment required and speak to you about the plan of action.
PuroClean will need to determine the workflow in order to finish your cleanup project as soon as possible. Upon arrival at your location they will conduct a precursory inspection of the area to make sure it is ready for cleaning so as to complete this step quickly and efficiently.
It is of high importance to work with biohazard removal while also paying close attention to safety, industry, and OSHA standards and guidelines. Our trained technicians wear special Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to keep themselves safe. PuroClean will also contain the area, taking the necessary steps to keep you and your family or employees safe as well.
All of the PuroClean professionals are required to wear PPE. The protective equipment includes a full-face respirator that protects from any type of splashes contacting the mucous membranes in the mouth, nose, and eyes. Also, our technicians wear Biohazard protective coveralls, Nitrile gloves, and shoe covers.
Our industry-certified technicians use EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant products, including towelettes, containing pharmaceutical ingredients that meet OSHA’s bloodborne pathogen standard against diseases like COVID-19 and more disease-causing bacteria, viruses, tuberculosis, mold, and mildew.
Our technicians typically use the following cleaning materials:
Puroclean uses three methods when using these disinfectants. Depending on the circumstances, technicians apply hospital-grade, EPA-registered disinfectants in one of these three ways:
Synthetic curtains, upholstery, and rugs: Our professionals will thoroughly clean these items manually or apply appropriate disinfectants for machine washing for these carpets and textiles and conduct needed extraction where necessary.
Natural fabrics, curtains, upholstery, and rugs need cleaning following the guidelines of the manufacturer.
Important: Washing machines should always be disinfected after contaminated materials are washed. For the disinfecting of clothing, linens, and other personal fabrics, contaminated pieces are to be laundered per instructions on every label.
Leather tanned materials: PuroClean will clean these materials by using disinfectant towelettes for wiping the surfaces with a lightly dampened cloth.
Suede and Nu-buck leather items – Cleaned following manufacturer’s guidelines.
Concrete, cinder block, wood, plywood, and oriented strand board (OSB) – Cleansed by applying the disinfectant solution directly onto the surface.
HVAC system – HVAC internal duct surfaces and components should be cleaned in accordance with industry guidelines by a licensed HVAC contractor or NADCA certified duct cleaner. External duct surfaces, grills, grates, and registers should be cleaned with a disinfectant solution.
It is common for odors to dissipate once the infected areas are cleaned and begin to dry. However, the PuroClean technicians will decide if more cleaning and deodorization are required.
We understand that a biohazard event can be sensitive and stressful and must be handled with empathy, care, and discretion. PuroClean restoration professionals are fully licensed and certified to follow all applicable laws and standards to remediate incidents safely.
RESPECTFUL: Our experienced biohazard cleaning technicians treat every affected area and item professionally and respectfully as if it were their own.
HIGHEST STANDARDS: PuroClean uses products that are approved to provide protection, reduce the likelihood of spreading pathogens, and prevent contamination.
ADVANCED CLEANING SYSTEM: PuroClean RapidDefense is an effective procedure that is used to start the disinfection process of public areas in the most effective and safe way possible. Our system uses disinfectants that help prevent virus and other pathogen-based contamination in areas close by.
Our EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant will be used to clean all cleaning implements that were used during the coronavirus cleanup. Before leaving the location that was contaminated with the coronavirus we will conduct this detailed cleaning.
Per the CDC, Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces are the recommended actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, like coronavirus. Since any surface can be re-contaminated after cleaning, and because the coronavirus is also spread person-to-person, PuroClean’s services are not guaranteed to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html) for more information regarding coronavirus, its spread, and prevention.
