“Coronavirus” is an umbrella term for many types of viruses that have been known to cause respiratory diseases in both people and animals. The 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19; previously 2019-nCoV) is a new strain that has been recently discovered and publicized worldwide. PuroClean Emergency Services uses the PuroClean RapidDefense™ system to provide deep mitigation cleaning in areas compromised by a Coronavirus or Influenza outbreak. Using this process, the team at PuroClean Emergency Services will carefully contain the area and will minimize the risk of pathogens spreading using The Environmental Protection Agency-registered (EPA) products. If there are any lingering odors, our trained technicians will deodorize the area and return your San Diego area property back to its pre-loss condition with empathy and care.
An extremely effective way to limit the spread of the virus is by the deep mitigation cleaning of all touch-point surfaces, as well as the use of EPA-registered disinfectants. This particular kind of cleaning can be done in commercial properties, institutions and residential homes alike. Right now, the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread, causing government officials and healthcare officials to compel the public to take every available precaution for personal protection. The coronavirus cleaning services PuroClean performs assists in reducing contamination risk related to the COVID-19 outbreak. Contact your local PuroClean office for additional information regarding how we can assist you in the cleaning of your property.
It has been widely reported that the spread of COVID-19 is caused by individuals who are in close contact with each other (within about 6 feet), through small respiratory droplets that are blown into the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes. The tiny droplets end up in the mouths or noses of others who are nearby. It is also possible for these droplets to be inhaled into the lungs. This is why COVID-19 is believed to spread most prevalently from person-to-person.
As stated by the CDC, there is a possibility that someone can contract COVID-19 by touching a surface or object where the virus exists and then placing their hand on their own mouth, nose, or even their eyes.
We start out by completing a full inspection of your home or office premises. We then decide what level of containment you should have and pass on the action plan to you.
PuroClean technicians will arrive at your home or business and perform an initial walkthrough to confirm that the property is ready for our cleaning. The technicians will map out a plan for the flow of work and conduct the full cleaning as efficiently as possible.
It is of extreme importance to perform biohazard removal while also paying strict attention to safety, industry and OSHA standards and guidelines. Our skilled technicians wear specific Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to keep themselves safe. PuroClean will also contain the area, taking the appropriate steps to keep you and your loved ones or employees safe as well.
All of our trained technicians are required to wear PPE. The protective equipment includes a full-face respirator that provides protection from any type of splashes contacting the mucous membranes in the mouth, nose, and eyes. Additionally, our technicians wear Biohazard protective coveralls, Nitrile gloves, and shoe covers.
Specific use towelettes are used that also conform to OSHA’s bloodborne pathogen standard to fight diseases like the coronavirus and numerous more diseases, bacteria, mold, mildew, tuberculosis, and viruses. These and other cleaning supplies used by our industry certified professionals are all hospital grade and EPA-registered disinfectant products.
The typical cleaning materials used by our technicians include:
Puroclean uses three methods when using these disinfectants. Depending on the circumstances, technicians apply hospital grade, EPA-registered disinfectants in one of these three methods:
Synthetic carpets, rugs, curtains, and upholstery – PuroClean professionals will either manually clean or, for machine cleaning, they will apply approved disinfectants for textiles and carpets and then remove spots where needed.
Natural fabric rugs, carpets, curtains and upholstery: These items are to be cleaned in exact accordance with the manufacturer’s labeled instructions.
To disinfect clothing, linens and other personal fabrics, the contaminated articles should be laundered per label instructions. NOTE: washing machines should be disinfected after washing contaminated materials.
Tanned leather materials – We can clean these materials by wiping the surfaces with a lightly moistened cloth with disinfectant solution or disinfectant towelettes.
Suede and Nu-buck leather material – Cleaned following the manufacturer’s guidelines.
Concrete, cinder block, wood, plywood, and oriented strand board (OSB) – Cleaned by placing the disinfectant solution directly onto the surface.
HVAC system – External ductwork surfaces, grills, grates, and registers should be cleaned with a disinfectant solution. The interior surfaces of HVAC ductwork and components should be cleaned in accordance with industry guidelines by a licensed HVAC technician or NADCA certified duct cleaner.
Normally, when the affected location has been cleaned and starts to dry, the odors will disappear. Our technicians will decide, however, whether any further deodorization is required.
We understand that a biohazard event can be stressful and sensitive and must be handled with empathy, care and discretion. PuroClean restoration professionals are fully licensed and certified to follow all applicable laws and standards to remediate incidents safely.
RESPECTFUL: Our biohazard cleaning technicians treat every affected area and item respectfully and professionally, as if it were our own.
HIGHEST STANDARDS: PuroClean uses proven products approved to provide protection, reduce the risk of spreading pathogens and prevent contamination.
ADVANCED CLEANING SYSTEM: Our RapidDefense process sanitizes and even helps prevent virus and other pathogen-based contamination in nearby areas. This is an innovative process that we use in order to disinfect public areas as effectively as possible.
Prior to leaving a site that has been contaminated with the coronavirus, our technicians will do a thorough cleaning of all equipment and tools used in the cleaning process for coronavirus with an EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant.Per the CDC, Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces are the recommended actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, like coronavirus. Since any surface can be re-contaminated after cleaning, and because the coronavirus is also spread person-to-person, PuroClean’s services are not guaranteed to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html) for more information regarding coronavirus, its spread, and prevention.
