Biohazard Cleanup Process:

  1. Initial Assessment & Customized Remediation Plan: Every safe cleanup starts with a thorough evaluation. Our team assesses the full extent of contamination and safety concerns. From there, we create a site-specific biohazard remediation plan tailored to your situation, ensuring a secure and respectful process from start to finish.
  2. Safe Removal of Infectious Materials: All potentially infectious substances—such as blood, bodily fluids, or contaminated items—are carefully removed using OSHA-compliant procedures. Materials are then sealed, transported, and properly disposed of at a licensed hazardous medical waste incinerator, eliminating the risk of further exposure.
  3. Handling of Porous and Non-Porous Materials: Contaminated porous items like carpets, bedding, and upholstery are removed in accordance with industry and government standards. Hard, non-porous surfaces are either sanitized thoroughly or removed if deemed unsafe. This ensures your property is returned to a clean, compliant, and habitable state.
  4. Cosmetic Sealing of Remaining Materials: After cleanup, some surfaces may have stains that remain despite proper sanitization. In these cases, we apply safe sealants to drywall or flooring as needed—primarily for cosmetic reasons—offering both peace of mind and visual reassurance that the space has been professionally restored.

Crime Scene Cleanup Seattle: Planning & Organization

To begin, we provide a full assessment of the incident and the area(s) affected. We will determine the level of containment needed and inform you of the plan of action.

Safety as a Priority

It is key to perform biohazard removal with special attention to safety and industry and OSHA standards. Our trained technicians wear special personal protective equipment to keep themselves safe. They also contain the area, taking the appropriate steps to keep you and your family or employees safe as well.

Medical Waste Removal

Hazardous medical waste, such as spinal fluid, peritoneal fluid, amniotic fluid, and other bodily fluids, is handled following OSHA regulations. It’s then sent to a licensed hazardous medical waste incinerator.

Thorough Cleanup & Decontamination

All affected porous material will be removed in accordance with industry standards and state regulations. All other infectious material will be safely discarded as well.  For non-porous surfaces, we will dry the affected area before applying a disinfectant. After allowing this to soak, we scrub, repeating the process to disinfect the space.

Deodorization

Typically, once the biohazard is cleaned and the area sanitized, odors dissipate. However, our crew will determine whether further deodorization is necessary. If so, we use hydroxyls or ozone to ensure the odor is gone.
