Living Space Mold<\/b><\/h2>\n
#1 Reason for mold <\/b>\u2013 relative humidity sustained above 60%.<\/span><\/p>\n\n- Shower<\/b> wall affected (organic), shower tile and shower head not affected (inorganic).<\/span><\/li>\n
- Unoccupied home\u2013 <\/span>hot water heater pinhole leak<\/b>, hot moist air raises relative humidity.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Inside a closet, only surface damage and <\/span>can be cleaned <\/b>and disinfected.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Wood window seal <\/b>\u2013 single pane glass, condensation, constant water supply, both mold ingredients. Best to have double-pane vinyl framed windows.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Ceiling mold <\/b>\u2013 if leak from above, material has to be removed and area disinfected.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Inside Chemistry <\/b>\u2013 quats, or essential oil Thymol (doesn\u2019t even have a warning label, can drink it).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

Crawlspace Mold<\/b><\/h2>\n
#1 Reason for Mold <\/b>\u2013 Leak in the crawlspace from pressurized pipes (freshwater lines).<\/span><\/p>\n\n- Flooded or heavily water affected crawlspaces <\/b>often have heavy wet, slimy mold on the joists and flooring ceiling.<\/span><\/li>\n
- We first <\/span>remove<\/b> the batt insulation, then chemically <\/span>treat the wood<\/b>, then <\/span>fog<\/b> the area, then <\/span>set drying equipment<\/b>.<\/span><\/li>\n
- If the area is not water affected but has surface mold because of higher RH (common in large areas), we <\/span>remove the insulation, surface treat the wood, replace the same insulation<\/b>.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
