“Coronavirus” is an umbrella term for many types of viruses that have been known to cause respiratory diseases in both people and animals. The 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19; previously 2019-nCoV) is a new strain that has been recently discovered and publicized worldwide. PuroClean Restoration Services uses the PuroClean RapidDefense™ system to provide deep mitigation cleaning in areas compromised by a Coronavirus or Influenza outbreak. Using this process, the team at PuroClean Restoration Services will carefully contain the area and will minimize the risk of pathogens spreading using The Environmental Protection Agency-registered (EPA) products. If there are any lingering odors, our trained technicians will deodorize the area and return your Washington area property back to its pre-loss condition with empathy and care.
Since the The COVID-19 outbreak keeps growing rapidly, health and government leaders are speaking to the public daily, asking that everyone practice the safe means necessary to protect themselves. A very effective method to slow the virus from spreading is by the performance of deep mitigation cleaning on all touch-point surfaces, along with using EPA-registered disinfectants. These particular cleaning procedures can be effective for institutions, commercial, and residential properties. PuroClean’s Washington coronavirus cleaning services can promote a drastic reduction of contamination related to the COVID-19 outbreak. Call your local PuroClean professionals for more information on our various cleaning and restoration services.
Individuals that are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet) are at the highest risk of spreading COVID-19 in a “person-to-person” manner. Small respiratory droplets projected through coughing or sneezing produce small particles that can land on the nose or mouth or be inhaled into the lungs of someone nearby. This is most commonly how COVID-19 spreads quickly. Therefore, it is thought that person-to-person is the most common way the disease spreads.
As stated by the CDC, there is a possibility that someone can contract COVID-19 by touching a surface or object with the virus on it and then placing their hand on their own mouth, nose, or even their eyes.
We first will come in and provide a full assessment of your office or home. We determine the level of containment needed and discuss the plan of action with you.
Initially, Puroclean technicians will arrive at your home or business and perform a preliminary inspection to check that the area is ready for our cleaning services. Following this, the workflow is determined by PuroClean, in order to complete the project as quickly as possible.
It is key to perform biohazard abatement with strict attention to safety and industry and OSHA guidelines. Our trained staff wear special Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure their safety. They also identify the area, taking the needed steps to keep you and your family or employees out of harm’s way as well.
All of our trained technicians are required to wear PPE. The protective equipment includes a full-face respirator that provides protection from any type of splashes reaching the mucous membranes in the mouth, nose, and eyes. Additionally, our technicians wear Biohazard protective coveralls, Nitrile gloves, and shoe covers.
Our industry-certified technicians use EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant products, including towelettes, composed of pharmaceutical ingredients that meet OSHA’s bloodborne pathogen standard against diseases like the coronavirus and more disease-causing bacteria, viruses, tuberculosis, mold, and mildew.
The cleaning materials our technicians typically use include:
Puroclean implements three methods when using these disinfectants. Depending on the circumstances, technicians apply hospital grade, EPA-registered disinfectants in one of these three methods:
Synthetic rugs, carpets, curtains and upholstery: PuroClean will clean these items manually or by machine cleaning. Approved disinfectants for the appropriate cleaning of the textiles and carpet will be applied for the cleaning; spot removal will be done where needed.
Natural fabrics, rugs, curtains, and upholstery must be cleaned in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines.
For the disinfectant of clothing, linens and other personal fabrics, the affected articles should be laundered per label instructions. NOTE: washing machines should be thoroughly cleaned after washing contaminated materials.
Tanned leather materials – PuroClean will clean these material items by wiping the surfaces with a lightly moistened towel and disinfectant sprays or disinfectant towelettes.
Suede and Nu-buck leather items – Cleaned according to manufacturer’s guidelines.
Concrete, cinder block, wood, plywood, and oriented strand board (OSB) – Cleaned by applying the disinfectant solution directly onto the items.
HVAC System: Industry regulations should be obeyed for the cleaning of HVAC internal ducts surfaces and components; by a licensed HVAC contractor or NADCA certified duct cleaner. Also, the outside ductwork, registers, grates, grills and surfaces are to be washed using a disinfectant solution.
Our technicians shall make the decision whether more cleaning and deodorization will be needed. However, typically once the infected areas are cleaned and start to dry, the odors will disappear.
We understand that a biohazard event can be sensitive and stressful and must be handled with empathy, care and discretion. PuroClean restoration professionals are fully licensed and certified to follow all applicable laws and standards to remediate incidents safely.
RESPECTFUL: Our experienced biohazard cleaning technicians treat every affected area and item professionally and respectfully, as if it were their own.
HIGHEST STANDARDS: PuroClean uses proven products approved to provide protection, reduce the risk of spreading pathogens and prevent contamination.
ADVANCED CLEANING SYSTEM: Our RapidDefense process sanitizes and even reduces virus and other pathogen-based contamination in nearby areas. This is an innovative procedure we use in order to disinfect public places the most effective way possible.
EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant will be used to clean all cleaning implements that was used during the coronavirus cleanup. Before leaving the site that was contaminated with the coronavirus we will conduct this meticulous cleaning.Per the CDC, Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces are the recommended actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, like coronavirus. Since any surface can be re-contaminated after cleaning, and because the coronavirus is also spread person-to-person, PuroClean’s services are not guaranteed to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html) for more information regarding coronavirus, its spread, and prevention.
