SPARTANBURG, SC (May 31, 2017) – Thomas Maguire, owner of PuroClean Restoration Rescuers in Spartanburg, South Carolina, was named PuroClean’s Franchise of the Year at the company’s annual convention, held May 2-4 in Ponte Vedra, Florida.

From among more than 230 PuroClean franchise owners across North America, Maguire was recognized for receiving outstanding marks in five categories pertinent to running a successful PuroClean business: percentage of sales growth over the past three years, percent of market share, sales numbers for mitigation and rebuilding, profitability, and the number of continuing education classes held.

“Years ago, after the awards dinner at the first PuroClean conference I attended, I said to myself, ‘I don’t know how, but I will be Franchise of the Year one day’ and wrote an acceptance speech that night. That tradition held until Steve White called my name this year,” Maguire noted. “This honor is a testament to every person involved with our PuroClean. It’s humbling, and it would not be possible without the fantastic staff we have, the Carolina Owners’ Group, the Regional Developers, and everyone in the corporate office who take my calls day and night.”

A PuroClean owner since 2009, Maguire serves on the company’s Network Leadership Council, representing franchise owners and their interests to the PuroClean executive team. Prior to owning his business, he was a well-respected and awarded member of the United States Air Force for nearly 10 years. During his time in the Air Force, he was handpicked to head the largest War Reserve Material Program supporting ongoing combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. He also spent two years as the Chief Operating Officer of a supply chain management company.

“Thomas has shown unwavering dedication to PuroClean and has helped hundreds of property owners recover from emergencies caused by water, fire, mold and trauma events,” said PuroClean Chairman and CEO, Mark W. Davis. “He demonstrates business savvy and compassion for customers, and is very supportive of other franchise owners. His generosity of time and dedication to the business is truly inspiring.”

South Carolina insurance companies count on Maguire’s PuroClean to provide damage mitigation services for homes and businesses. The award-winning national franchise company has earned the reputation as “The Paramedics of Property Damage™” by property owners and insurance agents, who appreciate PuroClean’s emergency service technicians and the important role they play in responding to emergencies 24 hours a day.

“Thomas is exactly the type of franchise owner we want in our system,” said PuroClean’s President and COO, Steve White. “His thirst for learning and exceeding his own expectations is never quenched. He is constantly seeing what he can do to improve his PuroClean and others in the network, and he’s got an eagle eye for local talent. This is just the beginning for him, and we can’t be more excited to see what he does next.”
