Detailed Demolition and Salvage Efforts
Protecting the property during the mitigation process was a priority. We laid ram board and plastic over the hardwood floors to shield them from potential damage during demolition. We then set up a HEPA air scrubber for the duration of our demolition process. Our team carefully removed the lower cabinetry, preserving the cabinet faces for potential reuse. We also supported the unaffected countertops with precisely cut 2x4s, demonstrating our commitment to conserving as much of the original structure as possible. Next we performed a two-foot flood cut along the perimeter of the affected drywall, removing it in squares as well as the soaked insulation.
Cleaning and Antimicrobial Treatment
After removing the damaged materials, our focus shifted to thorough cleaning and disinfection. The areas were then meticulously cleaned with a HEPA vacuum to eliminate residual dust. Following this, we applied an antimicrobial treatment throughout the area to prevent future mold growth and ensure the space was thoroughly sanitized.
With the cleaning complete, we reset our fans to dry the newly exposed areas thoroughly. By the next day, the moisture was eradicated, and the property was ready for the rebuilding process.
