Why We’re Proud to Support the Strafford School District: A PuroClean Initiative

At PuroClean of Strafford County, we understand that teachers are the backbone of our communities, shaping the minds and futures of our children. We’re launching the Adopt a Classroom Campaign—to give back to those who give so much. Teachers often go above and beyond, spending their resources to create enriching classroom experiences. By adopting a classroom to help a teacher and provide them with the support and supplies they need, we’re investing not only in their success but also in the success of our community’s future leaders.

This campaign is our way of saying “thank you” and acknowledging the invaluable role teachers play in inspiring and guiding our students.

Why We Support Teachers
Teachers have a tremendous impact on our children’s lives and, by extension, on our entire community. They spark curiosity, encourage critical thinking, and foster creativity, all while managing limited resources and challenging classroom environments. Despite their dedication, most teachers spend their own money to purchase school supplies and other essentials to help their students succeed.
- 90% of teachers use their own money to purchase school supplies .
- A survey by the Association of American Educators (AAE) found that public school teachers spend an average of $673 per year on classroom supplies .
- Inflation has driven school supply costs up by nearly 24% in recent years, further straining teachers’ finances .
Supporting teachers through this campaign means empowering the future of our community. We see them, appreciate them, and want to help them continue making a difference.

Our Personal Connection to Strafford Schools
At PuroClean of Strafford County, giving back to our community isn’t just a business decision—it’s personal. As a family-owned business rooted in Strafford, New Hampshire, we are deeply committed to the well-being of our local schools and the education of the next generation. This commitment is exemplified by our Adopt-a-Classroom campaign, which supports the Strafford School District with essential supplies and resources.
For the Bostrom family, the Strafford School District is more than just a place of learning; it’s a community that has supported their children in meaningful ways. Cheyenne Bostrom, wife of PuroClean owner Tyson Bostrom, recalls a heartwarming experience when their daughter, Nacora, wanted to raise money for the Pope Memorial Humane Society. The school went above and beyond, allowing Nacora to ‘sell’ bracelets for donations and even including the initiative in the weekly newsletter. This act of kindness solidified the Bostroms’ bond with the school and reinforced their desire to give back.
As Nacora enters 4th grade and her younger brother Dax begins 1st grade, the Bostrom family’s connection to the Strafford School District remains strong. Through the Adopt-a-Classroom campaign, PuroClean is bridging the gap between the needs of teachers and the resources available to them.

The Importance of Supporting Schools
Teachers play a crucial role in shaping the future, often going above and beyond to provide enriching experiences for their students. However, limited resources can make this challenging. That’s why we’re focusing on providing essentials like Clorox wipes, paper towels, pencils, and other classroom basics. In addition, we’re also contributing items that can enhance the learning environment, such as Amazon gift cards, markers, crayons, scissors, and headphones for Chromebooks.
Supporting local schools like Strafford is not just about filling classrooms with supplies; it’s about investing in the education of our future leaders. Strafford School’s ranking—#151 in New Hampshire Elementary Schools and #60 in New Hampshire Middle Schools—demonstrates the importance of providing these resources to maintain and improve their performance .
