Chris Empey, franchise owner in Riverton, UT, came to the rescue of clients Mark Kramer and Ryan Niles as one of their vacation rental properties in Park City, UT experienced major flood damage. While the house was vacant after a recent rental, the valve fitting for the water supply line to the laundry room sink failed, allowing water to run for hours and damage multiple rooms on multiple floors of the house. Once the property manager discovered the water damage, he attempted to clean it himself, but quickly realized that this was a job for professionals, and Chris Empey’s PuroClean of Bluffdale was hired.
With the property owners living in another state, one of them flew in to meet with Chris to assess the damage. After the walk-through, Chris and his team took over servicing the loss and began mitigation services on multiple levels of the house. They were able to keep all parties involved informed of the status and progress of the loss by using our customized restoration management system. This provided both property owners, the home rental company, and the property manager with a link to the job file. They were able to see the job’s progress in real time (despite being out of state) as the PuroClean team completed compliance tasks and updated photos and notes into the file. The communication was extremely helpful as Chris had to coordinate with both the property manager and home rental company during the repair process to make sure the property was ready for guests a few short days after the target completion date.
