While we occasionally deal with animal damage, our latest biohazard cleanup job was definitely unusual and one we won’t soon forget.
An Unexpected House Call
Homeowners in northern New Jersey received the surprise of their lives when a four-point buck crashed through a sliding glass door at their home sometime after dusk recently. Fortunately, no one was sitting at the kitchen table when the intruder arrived. The police and game commissioner’s office removed the carcass, but excess blood and broken glass remained on the floor.
We responded to the frantic call promptly. When we arrived within the hour, we found blood and glass scattered throughout the kitchen. We immediately started the cleanup process and secured the back patio entry. Once our skilled team got to work, the retired homeowners’ panic began to subside.
Our six crew members worked well into the night. While the homeowners stayed with nearby relatives overnight, the PuroClean technicians cleaned, scrubbed, disinfected, and deodorized the whole kitchen. Aside from the glass patio door that we had to temporarily seal off for the night, there was no other evidence that the buck had been there the night before.
