Early Morning Water Damage Remediation

On Friday, January 20, 2023, at 4:40 AM, PuroClean received a call from a plumber associate regarding a water main rupture at a gym in Teaneck, NJ. The 30,000-square-foot deluxe workout facility was under six inches of water, and the owners needed urgent help.

Our franchise owner, Karl Grebe, raced to the scene and assembled a team of 10 technicians by 7:30 AM. The job was messy and required extracting the standing flood water, picking up the floor matting, scrapping the adhesive up off the cement, then vacuuming up the remaining adhesive particles and residual water before air drying the cement floor. By 9:20 AM, the support of an additional 11 technicians from a nearby PuroClean franchise arrived on the scene.

Thanks to the tireless efforts of our team and even the gym owners themselves, the facility was reopened by Sunday afternoon with all of its exercise equipment intact and unscathed.

The damaged flooring and sheetrock were removed and discarded, and the patrons would never know the extent of the damage caused by the flood. Aside from the monumental flood task at hand, our technicians benefitted from an additional unexpected workout, as they had to constantly lift, lug, and move strewn about barbells, 25 to 45-pound weight plates, workout benches, and other types of workout equipment back and forth just to complete the job!

The owners were thankful for the quick and efficient work of the PuroClean team, and the patrons were happy to return to the facility.
