Recently, an older couple in Gardner, Illinois reached out to us about water damage in their basement from a water main break. They contacted their insurance company first, but it seems as though their agent didn’t sufficiently explain everything. They were completely lost and confused dealing with such an emergency. Our crew walked the couple through the process, explaining what was going on and the process our technicians would take with their property. We must’ve done a great job easing our customer’s mind because he napped in his recliner while we worked!
The biggest challenge during the job was the couples’ belongings. We weren’t able to secure a container soon enough to hold the contents of the basement during the water damage restoration. Instead, we had to place the contents in the garage. Unfortunately, the wife was used to parking her car in the garage. This made it more important to work quickly and efficiently so the family could resume their normal routines.
Our crew worked extremely hard to restore the damage from the water main break. The entire team worked overtime to ensure everything was completed in a timely manner. Our communication and knowledge helped alleviate a lot of the stress for the couple. We also recommended quality flooring types that were readily available to help keep the time frame.
In the end, the couple was so thankful for everything, they even stopped by our manager’s newly purchased home – just a few blocks away! – to say thanks and see if he needed anything.
