“Coronavirus” is an umbrella term for many types of viruses that have been known to cause respiratory diseases in both people and animals. The 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19; previously 2019-nCoV) is a new strain that has been recently discovered and publicized worldwide. PuroClean Restoration Professionals uses the PuroClean RapidDefense™ system to provide deep mitigation cleaning in areas compromised by a Coronavirus or Influenza outbreak. Using this process, the team at PuroClean Restoration Professionals will carefully contain the area and will minimize the risk of pathogens spreading using The Environmental Protection Agency-registered (EPA) products. If there are any lingering odors, our trained technicians will deodorize the area and return your Wilmington area property back to its pre-loss condition with empathy and care.
The coronavirus pandemic is still spreading and government leaders and health experts continue to urge citizens to follow strict and particular precautions for protection. PuroClean’s Wilmington coronavirus cleaning methods help reduce COVID-19 outbreak related contamination. We are now performing deep mitigation cleaning of all touch-point surfaces, and also using EPA-registered disinfectant. Our COVID-19 cleaning services are available for any commercial, residential, industrial and institutional areas. Get in touch with PuroClean today to find out more about our COVID-19 cleaning services and more.
The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person. This includes between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet) and through respiratory droplets ejected when an infected person coughs or sneezes. The droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or can also be inhaled into the lungs.
It may be possible for someone to get the COVID-19 virus after touching an area with the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or eyes. The CDC confirms the possibility of the disease being spread in this manner.
Your PuroClean techs will need to determine what level of containment you will need and discuss with you a plan of action. This is the initial step taken when they complete a full assessment of your home or office.
Initially, Puroclean technicians will arrive at your home or business and conduct a preliminary inspection to check that the area is prepared for our cleaning services. Following this, the plan of the work is determined by PuroClean, in order to do the required work as expeditiously as possible.
It is important to perform biohazard abatement with special attention to safety and industry and OSHA standards. Our trained staff wear special Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to keep themselves safe. They also contain the area, taking the appropriate steps to keep you and your family or employees out of harm’s way as well.
First, wearing proper PPE is required. Puroclean technicians wear a full-face respirator to protect them against infected particles coming in contact with the mucous membranes of the mouth, nose, or eyes. The technicians also wear Biohazard protective coveralls, shoe covers, and Nitrile gloves.
Specific use towelettes are used that also conform to OSHA’s bloodborne pathogen standard to fight diseases like the coronavirus and other diseases, bacteria, mold, mildew, tuberculosis, and viruses. These and other cleaning supplies put to use by our industry certified professionals are all hospital grade and EPA-registered disinfectant products.
The typical cleaning materials used by our technicians include:
Puroclean uses three methods when using these disinfectants. Depending on the circumstances, technicians apply hospital grade, EPA-registered disinfectants in one of these three methods:
Synthetic rugs, carpets, curtains and upholstery: PuroClean will clean these items by hand or by machine cleaning. Appropriate disinfectants for the appropriate cleaning of the textiles and carpet will be applied for the cleaning; extraction will be done where needed.
Natural fabric rugs, carpets, curtains and upholstery: These items are to be cleaned in strict accordance with the manufacturer’s labeled instructions.
Important: Washing machines should always be disinfected after contaminated materials are washed. For the disinfecting of clothing, linens and other personal fabrics, contaminated pieces are to be laundered per instructions on every label.
Tanned leather materials – We can clean these materials by wiping the surfaces with a cloth lightly moistened with disinfectant solution or disinfectant towelettes.
Suede and Nu-buck leather material – Cleaned according to manufacturer’s guidelines.
Plywood, wood, block, cinder block, concrete and OSB (Oriented Strand Board): Cleaned by the application of disinfectants right on the surface.
HVAC systems: The internal duct surfaces of the HVAC system and components should be cleaned by a licensed HVAC contractor or a duct cleaner who is NADCA certified in accordance with industry guidelines. Additionally, externally located ductwork grates, grills, surfaces and registers will be cleaned with disinfectant cleaners.
Normally, when the affected location has been cleaned and begins to dry, the odors go away. Our trained professionals will decide, however, whether any more deodorization is required.
We understand that a biohazard event can be sensitive and stressful and must be handled with empathy, care and discretion. PuroClean restoration professionals are fully licensed and certified to follow all applicable laws and standards to remediate incidents safely.
RESPECTFUL: Our biohazard cleaning technicians treat every affected area and item professionally and respectfully, as if it were our own.
HIGHEST STANDARDS: PuroClean uses proven products approved to provide protection, reduce the likelihood of spreading pathogens and prevent contamination.
ADVANCED CLEANING SYSTEM: PuroClean RapidDefense is an innovative procedure used to start the disinfection process of public areas the most effective way possible. Our system uses sanitizers that help prevent virus and other pathogen-based contamination in areas close by.
Before leaving a site that has been contaminated with the coronavirus, our team will do a thorough cleaning of all equipment and tools used in the coronavirus cleanup with an EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant.Per the CDC, Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces are the recommended actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, like coronavirus. Since any surface can be re-contaminated after cleaning, and because the coronavirus is also spread person-to-person, PuroClean’s services are not guaranteed to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html) for more information regarding coronavirus, its spread, and prevention.
