Mold Remediation Completed in Under a Week for Local Family

Recently we received a call on a Tuesday from a family with school-aged children in Wesley Chapel. The family suspected they had mold growing in their home and needed help. Our crew responded the same day to assess the situation and develop a plan of attack. Upon arrival, we could clearly see visible mold and water stains on the wall and ceiling. We knew it was important to take care of the mold quickly so we returned the next morning to begin work.

First, we had to set up plastic sheeting and seal off the air conditioning ducts inside the containment area. We also set up and created negative air pressure inside of the containment. All of this was necessary to prevent the mold from spreading further in the home.

The next step was to remove the carpet, wall, and ceiling from the affected area. The carpet and ceiling were both only affected in small areas, so not much needed to be removed. We also took out half of a wall from floor to ceiling. During this process, we discovered ants behind the drywall and a hole in the roof. Both of these issues needed to be addressed along with the mold and water stains. The homeowners had a bug company come out to take care of the ants, and they lined up a roofer to come in after we finished with the mold.

With the demolition completed, we thoroughly cleaned everything inside of the containment area with an antimicrobial (known as HEPA cleaning.) We also fogged out the containment area to further clean the air. When our technicians were finished, we continued to let our equipment run for a couple more days to ensure the air was clean.

Finally, on the last day, we painted over the mold-stained wood with an antimicrobial sealing paint to prevent the mold from returning. We started work on the mold and water stain on a Tuesday and completed our work on that following Saturday. In the end, we removed all the damaged drywall and flooring. The homeowners were thrilled with our speedy response, knowledge, and quality of work, leaving us a five-star review to reflect their satisfaction.
