How PuroClean of Morristown helped:
In late August, a category four hurricane named Laura ravaged Louisiana and Texas . Hurricane Laura was named one of the deadliest hurricanes to hit Louisiana since 1856. With winds up to 156 miles per hour, Laura is now tied for first place for the most intense hurricane to make landfall.
The owner of PuroClean of Morristown, Nelson Rivera has been in Louisiana since the beginning of the hurricane. In late August, Nelson and his crew whom are also local firefighters at the Orange NJ fire department packed up the trucks and supplies and drove a full day to Louisiana. It has not been easy leaving their loved ones, but he and his team have made lots of progress restoring and rebuilding in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Hurricane Laura was devastating and left many people jobless. Nelson put together a hiring event where he offered jobs to locals. He trained them properly and gave them all the necessary gear they needed. The event created opportunities for so many in Louisiana locals.

It is often difficult to remember that good exists in the world and, sometimes we need to be reminded of that. This year has shown us that more than ever. Even with such a tragedy, Nelson and his team were reminded of that when they met Vicky.
When Nelson and his team got to Lake Charles, he received a call from an elderly woman named Vicky. Her home sustained roof damage flooding three bedrooms. Vicky works with the local food pantry and delivered food platters to people who needed it. Trying to get food in Louisiana due to the hurricane damage often takes hours. That night after they met, Vicky delivered food platters to Nelson and his crew and every night after that.
Vicky was a blessing to Nelson and his team, but she stopped coming around. They gave her a call to check up on her. They learned that she had over excreted herself and got sick. Things got more difficult for Vicky when her home was now growing mold and her insurance denied coverage. They got right to work and conducted the Water and Mold Mitigation free of charge. Along with that, Nelson provided materials for a Done Right Home Pros, roofing company to fix her roof. An incredibly special surprise from Nelson and the team was $ 5,000 cash to cover her cost to repair damages from the water intrusion. Vicky is doing much better now and we could not be more happy to help!
