“Coronavirus” is an umbrella term for many types of viruses that have been known to cause respiratory diseases in both people and animals. The 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19; previously 2019-nCoV) is a new strain that has been recently discovered and publicized worldwide. PuroClean North Metro Atlanta uses the PuroClean RapidDefense™ system to provide deep mitigation cleaning in areas compromised by a Coronavirus or Influenza outbreak. Using this process, the team at PuroClean North Metro Atlanta will carefully contain the area and will minimize the risk of pathogens spreading using The Environmental Protection Agency-registered (EPA) products. If there are any lingering odors, our trained technicians will deodorize the area and return your North Metro Atlanta area property back to its pre-loss condition with empathy and care.
An extremely effective way to limit the spread of the virus is by the deep mitigation cleaning of all touch-point surfaces, along with the use of EPA-registered disinfectants. This type of cleaning can be done in commercial properties, institutions and residential homes alike. Currently, the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread, causing government leaders and healthcare experts to compel the public to take every possible precaution for personal protection. The coronavirus cleaning services we offer assists in reducing contamination risk related to the COVID-19 outbreak. Get in touch with your local PuroClean office for additional information regarding how we can assist you in the cleaning of your property.
Individuals that are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet) are at the highest risk of spreading COVID-19 in a “person-to-person” manner. Small respiratory droplets projected through coughing or sneezing produce small particles that possibly will land on the nose or mouth or be breathed into the lungs of another person. This is most commonly how COVID-19 spreads quickly. Therefore, it is thought that person-to-person is the most common way the disease spreads.
There is a possibility that COVID-19 can be spread when an individual physically touches an object or surface with the virus present, and then touches their nose or mouth. The CDC confirms that this type of spreading is very likely.
To begin, we provide a full assessment of your property. We will determine the containment level needed and inform you of the plan of action.
PuroClean will need to determine the workflow in order to complete your cleanup project as soon as possible. When they first arrive at your location PuroClean will conduct a precursory inspection of the area to make sure it is ready for cleaning in order to complete this step quickly and efficiently.
It is key to perform biohazard removal with strict attention to safety and industry and OSHA guidelines. Our trained staff wear special Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure their safety. They also contain the area, taking the needed steps to keep you and your family or employees out of harm’s way as well.
First, wearing proper PPE is a requirement. Our cleanup technicians wear a full-face respirator to guard against infected particles coming in contact with the mucous membranes of the mouth, nose, or eyes. PuroClean professionals also wear Biohazard protective coveralls, shoe covers, and Nitrile gloves.
Our trained professionals are industry-certified and use hospital grade disinfectant products that are EPA-registered. These products include towelettes, containing pharmaceutical substances, meeting OSHA’s bloodborne pathogen requirements against diseases like the coronavirus and other bacteria that lead to disease. The disinfectant solutions also protect against viruses, tuberculosis, mildew, and mold.
The typical cleaning materials used by our technicians include:
Our technicians use EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant using three methods, depending on the particular needs.
Synthetic carpets, rugs, curtains, and upholstery – Our technicians will either manually clean or, for machine cleaning, they will use approved disinfectants for textiles and carpets and then remove spots where needed.
Natural fabrics, rugs, curtains, and upholstery must be cleaned in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines.
To disinfect clothing, linens and other personal fabrics, the infected articles should be cleaned per label instructions. IMPORTANT NOTE: Washing machines need to be disinfected after washing contaminated materials.
Tanned leather materials – We can clean these materials by wiping the surfaces with a cloth lightly moistened with disinfectant solution or disinfectant towelettes.
Suede and Nu-buck leather material – Cleaned following the manufacturer’s guidelines.
Plywood, wood, block, cinder block, concrete and OSB (Oriented Strand Board): Cleaned by the application of disinfectant solution right on the surface.
HVAC System: Industry regulations should be followed for the cleaning of internal HVAC ducts surfaces and components; by a licensed HVAC contractor or NADCA certified duct cleaner. Additionally, the outside ductwork, registers, grates, grills and surfaces are to be cleaned with the aid of a disinfectant solution.
Our technicians shall make the decision whether more cleaning and deodorization will be performed. However, typically once the infected locations are cleaned and start to dry, the odors will go away.
We understand that a biohazard event can be stressful and sensitive and must be handled with empathy, care and discretion. PuroClean restoration professionals are fully licensed and certified to follow all applicable laws and standards to remediate incidents safely.
RESPECTFUL: Our certified biohazard cleaning technicians treat every affected area and item professionally and respectfully, as if it were their own.
HIGHEST STANDARDS: PuroClean uses proven products approved to provide protection, reduce the likelihood of spreading pathogens and prevent contamination.
ADVANCED CLEANING SYSTEM: PuroClean RapidDefense is an effective procedure that is used to start the disinfection process of public places in the most effective and safe way possible. Our process uses disinfectants that help prevent virus and other pathogen-based contamination in areas close by.
Before PuroClean technicians vacate a premises that had been contaminated by the coronavirus, they will completely clean all tools, PPE, and equipment that was used during the coronavirus cleanup, using a hospital-grade, EPA-registered disinfectant.
Per the CDC, Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces are the recommended actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, like coronavirus. Since any surface can be re-contaminated after cleaning, and because the coronavirus is also spread person-to-person, PuroClean’s services are not guaranteed to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html) for more information regarding coronavirus, its spread, and prevention.
