“For me, content work isn’t just about packing and moving things—it’s about protecting what matters most to our customers. Every item has a story, and my job is to make sure it’s cared for so that when it comes back home, it feels just like it did before.” – Esmeralda Rios, Contents Supervisor
When disaster strikes—whether it’s a burst pipe, a fire, or a severe storm—it’s not just your home’s structure that’s at risk. Your furniture, electronics, clothing, and personal keepsakes are just as vulnerable. At PuroClean of The Woodlands, our Content Services Department exists to protect those items, restore them when possible, and return them to you safe and sound.

The First to Arrive After a Disaster
“The Content Services Department is typically the first on the scene, as valuables affected by an incident, natural disaster, or accident not only need to be moved out of the way but also assessed, cleaned, and stored.”
Acting quickly is key. The longer belongings sit in a damaged environment, the greater the chance they’ll suffer further harm. Our team steps in right away to remove items from unsafe areas and get them to a secure, climate-controlled facility where they can be cleaned, restored, and stored until your home is ready.
Step 1: The Inspection Blueprint
Most of our projects start with a call or email from our operations team. From there, Esmeralda reviews all the details—address, project notes, and any special handling instructions—before scheduling an on-site inspection.
“That inspection becomes the blueprint for the job. It tells us how many crew members we’ll need, what materials to bring, and exactly how much of each supply is required.”
This plan ensures we arrive fully prepared with the right people, tools, and packing materials for the scope of the work.
Step 2: Packout Day

On the day of the job, the crew gathers for a short but focused morning huddle.
“I hand out documents with box codes, signature sheets, and counts for mats—making sure everyone is ready before we begin.”
Large furniture is wrapped in protective padding and plastic sheeting, while smaller belongings are packed into sturdy, labeled boxes. Every piece—no matter how big or small—is photographed and logged for tracking and insurance purposes.
Step 3: Secure Storage & Documentation
After the packout, everything is transported to our secure, climate-controlled warehouse.
“Once the crew completes a packout, we organize every item in our storage facility, label them, code them, and document each piece.”
Our estimator then reviews the complete inventory, photos, and notes to prepare a detailed report for the insurance carrier—helping streamline the claims process.
Step 4: The Pack-Back
The final step is also the most rewarding.
“The pack-back usually happens near the end of the project—once everything is cleaned, restored, and ready. We return it to its original spot so the homeowner can feel truly at home again.”
From start to finish, our goal is simple: protect what matters most and give our customers peace of mind during a stressful time.
