In mid-September 2022, the Chicago area was inundated with rainfall that left the community a waterlogged mess. According to meteorology reports, five inches of rain drenched Chicago on Sunday. The deluge greatly affected commercial and residential properties across the city. Homes encountered flooded basements while local schools underwent assessments to determine the extent of the damage.
After the soggy weekend, the cleanup process began on Monday. With our trucks loaded with our specialized PuroClean equipment, our team was ready to assist. Over two days, we received more than 90 calls regarding water and property damage restoration requests; we completed 24 jobs.
After the Rain Comes Action
Our compassionate crew went to work to resolve multiple water-damaged basements.
To ensure the safety of our technicians, we wore head-to-toe personal protective equipment (PPE) throughout the restoration work. Flood water can have high levels of raw sewage and contaminants. Avoiding exposure to hazardous materials is always important, so donning PPE is required.
Most of the work we completed throughout the many water damage restoration jobs had us removing carpeting in affected areas to reach the wet flooring below.
We removed the soiled materials and used potent water-removing equipment to extract the excess water from the flooring. Then, we thoroughly dried the area’s under-flooring and carpet to ensure no moisture remained.
With rooms fully restored to their pre-loss condition, our clients returned to their homes with peace of mind that our efficient team completed the work to everyone’s satisfaction.
