PuroClean of Shreveport produces quality restoration services for commercial and residential properties in Southern Arkansas, Northwest Louisiana, and Eastern Texas. Our services include fire damage restoration, biohazard cleanup, and mold remediation. We also specialize in water damage restoration.
Recently, our area was ravaged by severe weather. The locations that felt the brunt of the storms were Southern Hills, Spring Lake, and South Broadmoor in South Shreveport. There was also significant damage in Southgate, Shady Grove, and Benton in Bossier City and Bossier Parish. The intensity of the storms, tornados, and straight-line winds caused an uptick in restoration projects.
Our Crew at Work
Our homeowners received differing amounts of damage due to the harsh weather. Several of our clients had trees land on their homes, while other homes were less severe and had a few missing shingles and siding.
The scope of the work was like that of a typical job, except there were multiple restoration projects that we needed to cover in a short period. We created a quick action stabilization plan for every customer, allowing our certified technicians to complete every restoration effectively.

PuroClean’s Stabilization Plan
Our top priority was to prevent water from entering our clients’ homes. We attempted this by covering any damage with a tarp. Unfortunately, this wasn’t easy in some instances because there were still trees on their roofs.
Unsurprisingly, all the tree companies were at capacity, so we called in a subcontracting landscape company to only remove the tree limbs. While the tree debris remained, the lack of tree limbs allowed us to at least place a tarp on the roof.

We also had a priority checklist that featured the order in which to attend to the homeowners’ properties. As the power companies restored electricity to affected neighborhoods, we assisted those with electricity first.
We then removed all wet and structurally compromised insulation and ceiling drywall. It is important to have insured and certified contractors who know how to haul off this type of waste. We work with Shreveport’s #1 Junk Removal Service to make sure it is done right. Then, as homeowners had their power restored, we set up our equipment and tools and returned to finish the demolition of affected materials. This approach meant our demolition never fell behind schedule.
Currently, most homeowners have now transitioned towards the reconstruction phase or are awaiting insurance approvals.
Team Work Makes the Dream Work
Our PuroClean team stepped up to the plate with various restoration projects simultaneously. Our technicians worked 16-hour days and assisted as many homeowners as possible. Keeping spirits and attitudes high was important as our logistics changed regularly.
Our office staff was on top of their paperwork documentation to help the homeowners’ carrier process claims faster. Meanwhile, our project managers were bouncing around between fieldwork and tending to phone calls regarding standard estimates.
We want to acknowledge our reconstruction project manager, who even helped the mitigation team with estimates. It was indeed an all-hands-on-deck endeavor. We are very proud that we assisted our community during a difficult moment.
