Through the PuroClean Cares®: National Superhero Day Campaign, we joined forces with local businesses to honor our everyday heroes—police officers, firefighters, teachers, and more. Together, we made a meaningful difference in celebrating their dedication to our community’s well-being.

Since launching on March 18th, PuroClean has worked alongside community organizations to recognize and uplift unsung heroes in Upstate South Carolina. Their commitment to serving others inspires us all, and we are proud to stand by them.

Celebrating Beverly Benson – A True Champion of the Community
Every city has unsung heroes who seem to do it all—they show up, step in, and lift others up without ever asking for anything in return. For Spartanburg, one such unsung hero is Beverly Benson. And it’s with great pride and admiration that we recognize her as our Local Superhero of the Year!
A loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt, Beverly embodies strength, compassion, and unwavering dedication to her family and community alike. Since 1990, she has made history as Spartanburg’s first African American State Farm agent, breaking barriers and paving the way for others with grace and excellence.
But Beverly is so much more than her title. Known on stage as “BEP”, she’s a powerful poet and public speaker, using her voice to inspire, educate, and uplift. Whether she’s advising clients as a financial advisor, speaking truth through her poetry, or engaging audiences as a proud member of Spartanburg Toastmasters, Beverly brings purpose and passion to everything she does.
Her heart for service knows no bounds. Beverly hosts holiday food and clothing drives that directly support families and individuals in need throughout the Upstate. She’s a tireless mentor to local youth, a sponsor of youth athletic teams, and a consistent presence at community events, always volunteering her time and energy to make a difference.
She holds and supports numerous community events that promote financial well-being and knowledge, and she frequently goes out of her way—on her own time—to provide blankets, sleeping bags, umbrellas, and food to Spartanburg’s homeless community. Beverly is also a dedicated advocate for mental health awareness in schools and the workplace, and a supporter of diabetes awareness, helping bring attention and resources to a cause that impacts so many.
Through it all, Beverly remains grounded in her faith, a God-fearing woman whose values shine through every action she takes.
Beverly Benson isn’t just a role model—she’s a force of light in Spartanburg, touching lives with every step and setting an example for what community leadership truly looks like.
We are honored to celebrate her as our Superhero of the Year—not just for what she does, but for who she is.

On National Superhero Day, April 28th, PuroClean stopped by Beverly’s office to recognize her with a special trophy honoring all she has done for our community. Please join us in thanking her and all the other unsung heroes throughout our community.
