“Coronavirus” is an umbrella term for many types of viruses that have been known to cause respiratory diseases in both people and animals. The 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19; previously 2019-nCoV) is a new strain that has been recently discovered and publicized worldwide. PuroClean Restoration Rescuers uses the PuroClean RapidDefense™ Program system to provide deep mitigation cleaning in areas compromised by a Coronavirus or Influenza outbreak. Using this process, the team at PuroClean Restoration Rescuers will carefully contain the area and will minimize the risk of pathogens spreading using The Environmental Protection Agency-registered (EPA) products. If there are any lingering odors, our trained technicians will deodorize the area and return your Spartanburg, SC area property back to its pre-loss condition with empathy and care.
A very good way to battle the spread of the virus is by the deep mitigation cleaning of all touch-point surfaces, as well as the use of EPA-registered disinfectants. This level of cleaning can be done in commercial properties, institutions and residential homes alike. Right now, the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread, causing government officials and healthcare officials to urge the public to take every possible precaution for personal protection. The coronavirus cleaning services we offer assists in reducing contamination risk related to the COVID-19 outbreak. Get in touch with your local PuroClean office for additional information about how we can assist you in the cleaning of your property.
The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person. This includes individuals who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet) and through respiratory droplets ejected when an infected person coughs or sneezes. These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of individuals who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs.
There is a possibility that COVID-19 can be contracted when an individual physically touches an object or surface with the virus present, then touches their nose or mouth. The CDC confirms that this type of spreading is highly likely.
Your PuroClean techs will need to determine what level of containment you will need and speak with you regarding a plan of action. This is the initial step taken when they complete a full assessment of your home or office.
First, our technicians arrive at the premises and do a quick walkthrough to ensure that the property is ready for cleaning services. Then, they plan the flow of the work to do the work as efficiently as possible.
While Puroclean is performing biohazard removal, full attention and adherence to safety, industry, and OSHA standards is highly important. Also, our biohazard removal is addressed by technicians who will wear appropriate protective equipment, also known as PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). The technicians will section off the areas to undergo the cleaning process, using caution so as to protect customers, their families, and PuroClean employees.
All of our trained technicians are required to wear PPE. The protective equipment includes a full-face respirator which protects from any type of splashes reaching the mucous membranes in the mouth, nose, and eyes. Also, our technicians wear Biohazard protective coveralls, Nitrile gloves, and shoe covers.
Our trained professionals are fully trained and certified and use hospital grade disinfectant solutions that are EPA-registered. The products include towelettes, containing pharmaceutical substances, meeting OSHA’s bloodborne pathogen standards against diseases like the coronavirus and other bacteria that cause disease. The ingredients also protect against viruses, tuberculosis, mildew, and mold.
The cleaning materials commonly used by our technicians include:
Puroclean uses three methods when using these disinfectants. Depending on the circumstances, our workers apply hospital grade, EPA-registered disinfectants in one of these three methods:
Synthetic curtains, upholstery and rugs: PuroClean technicians will clean these items manually or apply appropriate disinfectants for machine cleaning for these carpets and textiles and conduct needed extraction where necessary.
Natural fabrics, rugs, curtains, and upholstery must be cleaned in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines.
To disinfect clothing, linens and other personal fabrics, the contaminated articles should be laundered per label instructions. NOTE: washing machines should be disinfected after washing contaminated materials.
Tanned leather garments – We clean these material items by wiping the surfaces with a lightly moistened towel and disinfectant sprays or disinfectant towelettes.
Suede and Nu-buck leather material – Cleaned according to manufacturer’s guidelines.
Concrete, cinder block, wood, plywood, and oriented strand board (OSB) – Cleansed by applying the disinfectant solution directly onto the items.
HVAC systems: The internal duct surfaces of the HVAC system and components should be cleaned by a licensed HVAC contractor or a duct cleaning specialist who is NADCA certified in accordance with industry guidelines. Also, externally located ductwork grates, grills, surfaces and registers will be cleaned with disinfectant solution.
Typically, once the infected area is cleaned and starts to dry, odors dissipate. However, our crew will decide when further deodorization is required.
We understand that a biohazard event can be stressful and sensitive and must be handled with empathy, care and discretion. PuroClean restoration professionals are fully licensed and certified to follow all applicable laws and standards to remediate incidents safely.
RESPECTFUL: Our biohazard cleaning technicians treat every affected area and item respectfully and professionally, as if it were their own.
HIGHEST STANDARDS: PuroClean uses products that are approved to provide protection, prevent contamination and reduce the risk of spreading dangerous pathogens.
ADVANCED CLEANING SYSTEM: Our RapidDefense system disinfects and even helps prevent virus and other pathogen-based contamination in nearby areas. This is an innovative procedure that we use in order to disinfect public places as effectively as possible.
Prior to vacating a project site in which the coronavirus had contaminated, the PuroClean staff will perform a full and complete cleansing of all equipment, tools, and PPE that were used for the coronavirus cleanup using an EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant.
Per the CDC, Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces are the recommended actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, like coronavirus. Since any surface can be re-contaminated after cleaning, and because the coronavirus is also spread person-to-person, PuroClean’s services are not guaranteed to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html) for more information regarding coronavirus, its spread, and prevention.
