“Coronavirus” is an umbrella term for many types of viruses that have been known to cause respiratory diseases in both people and animals. The 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19; previously 2019-nCoV) is a new strain that has been recently discovered and publicized worldwide. PuroClean Oakland County uses the PuroClean RapidDefense™ system to provide deep mitigation cleaning in areas compromised by a Coronavirus or Influenza outbreak. Using this process, the team from PuroClean Oakland County will carefully contain the area and will minimize the risk of pathogens spreading using The Environmental Protection Agency-registered (EPA) products. If there are any lingering odors, our trained technicians will deodorize the area and return your Detroit-Warren-Dearborn, MI area property back to its pre-loss condition with empathy and care.
The coronavirus pandemic is still spreading and world leaders in government and health agencies continue to urge the population to follow strict and particular measures for protection. We are currently doing deep mitigation cleaning of all touch-point surfaces, and also using disinfectants that are EPA registered. These cleaning practices are available for any commercial, residential, industrial and institutional customers. Get in touch with PuroClean today to find out more about our COVID-19 cleaning services and more.
It has been widely reported that the spread of COVID-19 is caused by individuals who are in close contact with each other (within about 6 feet), through small respiratory droplets that are blown into the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes. The tiny droplets fall into in the mouths or noses of others who are nearby. It is also possible for these droplets to be inhaled into the lungs. This is why COVID-19 is believed to spread most prevalently from person-to-person.
As stated by the CDC, there is a possibility that someone can contract COVID-19 by touching a surface or object with the virus on it and then placing their hand on their own mouth, nose, or even their eyes.
We start out by completing a full inspection of your home or office premises. We then decide what level of containment you should have and relay the action plan to you.
When we arrive at your home or business we’ll do an inspection to confirm the area is ready for PuroClean’s cleaning services. We will then determine the flow of work and perform the tasks as efficiently as possible.
It’s imperative that PuroClean conduct all biohazard removal with the utmost caution and a proper following of OSHA, Industry and safety standards. Our employees will contain areas, practicing all appropriate steps to focus on safety, your family’s safety and the employees safety alike. The extensively trained technicians will use special Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to conduct biohazard removal as safely as possible.
First, wearing proper PPE is a requirement. Our cleanup technicians wear a full-face respirator to guard against infected particles coming in contact with the mucous membranes of the mouth, nose, or eyes. PuroClean professionals also wear Biohazard protective coveralls, shoe covers, and Nitrile gloves.
Our industry-certified technicians use EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant products, including towelettes, containing pharmaceutical ingredients that meet OSHA’s bloodborne pathogen standard for use against diseases like the coronavirus and other disease-causing bacteria, viruses, tuberculosis, mold, and mildew.
The cleaning materials our technicians normally work with include:
Depending on the circumstances, Puroclean technicians apply hospital grade and EPA-registered disinfectants using three techniques.
Synthetic rugs, carpets, curtains and upholstery: PuroClean will clean these items manually or by machine cleaning. Appropriate disinfectants for the appropriate cleaning of the textiles and carpet will be applied for the cleaning; extraction will be done where needed.
Natural fabrics, curtains, upholstery and rugs need cleaning that is in accordance with the guidelines of the manufacturer.
Disinfecting linens, clothing and personal fabrics: The instructions on each label should be obeyed when laundering the contaminated articles. Note: Remember to disinfect washing machines following washing contaminated clothing.
Tanned leather garments – PuroClean will clean these material items by wiping the surfaces with a lightly moistened cloth and disinfectant solutions or disinfectant towelettes.
Suede and Nu-buck leather material – Cleaned following the manufacturer’s guidelines.
Concrete, cinder block, wood, plywood, and oriented strand board (OSB) – Cleaned by applying the disinfectant solution directly onto the surface.
HVAC system – External ductwork surfaces, grills, grates, and registers should be cleaned with a disinfectant solution. The interior surfaces of HVAC ductwork and components need to be cleaned in accordance with industry guidelines by a licensed HVAC contractor or NADCA certified duct cleaning professional.
Normally, when the affected area has been cleaned and begins to dry, the odors will disappear. Our technicians will decide, however, whether any further deodorization is required.
We understand that a biohazard event can be sensitive and stressful and must be handled with empathy, care and discretion. PuroClean restoration professionals are fully licensed and certified to follow all applicable laws and standards to remediate incidents safely.
RESPECTFUL: Our certified biohazard cleaning technicians treat every affected area and item professionally and respectfully, as if it were our own.
HIGHEST STANDARDS: PuroClean uses proven products approved to provide protection, prevent contamination and reduce the risk of spreading dangerous pathogens.
ADVANCED CLEANING SYSTEM: Our RapidDefense process disinfects and even helps prevent virus and other pathogen-based contamination in nearby areas. This is an innovative procedure that we use in order to disinfect public areas the most effective way possible.
EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant will be utilized to clean all tools, equipment and PPE that was used during the coronavirus cleanup. Prior to leaving the site that had been contaminated with the coronavirus we shall conduct this detailed cleaning.
Per the CDC, Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces are the recommended actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, like coronavirus. Since any surface can be re-contaminated after cleaning, and because the coronavirus is also spread person-to-person, PuroClean’s services are not guaranteed to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html) for more information regarding coronavirus, its spread, and prevention.
