With all Virginia now moved into Phase 2, businesses have begun to establish a “new normal” for their company and employees, as well as for their clients. PuroClean has partnered with our community in offering and performing our already established biohazard cleaning service. Our trained technicians have effectively and efficiently cleaned for COVID-19 following CDC guidelines, using EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectants and state-of-the art equipment.

While in the midst of this pandemic, we have continued to respond to emergency calls due to fire, water, and mold. Upon arriving on site, we assess the property and areas affected, as well as where the loss came from. We ascertain the damage, take moisture readings, and come up with a game plan specific for each emergency following industry standards and best practices. We extract excess water if needed and remove materials to either promote drying more efficiently, or if the material is contaminated, we dispose of it. We also have a technique for cleaning surfaces affected by soot, dirt, high heat, and even mold, called “soda blasting.”

We then begin cleaning and/or sanitizing and set up drying equipment – air movers for evaporation and dehumidifiers for dehumidification. A normal water mitigation loss will take an estimated 3-5 days to dry out the structure. Daily, we perform checks on the equipment and record moisture readings. If necessary, we also have industrial hygienists assist in evaluating the site.

Once the demo is complete but before the mitigation is finalized, our repair estimator will arrive and evaluate what is needed to rebuild the business or home. The estimator will see what material has been removed and what is needed and will create an estimate for a complete rebuild. If the site is minimal and only patch and paint is required, the job would be 1 to 2 days. If the carpet and flooring needs to be replaced, the job would require a bit longer to finish.
