Our Story

The Savannah River creates much of the border between Georgia and South Carolina. Founded in 1736, Augusta lies just inside the Georgia border. In the late 1800s and early 1900s, Augusta experienced several floods due to heavy rains and Savannah River flooding. To combat this, a levee was completed by 1915 and then expanded in 1940. The Thurmond Dam and Lake was built in 1954 for several reasons, including flood control. While these measures have protected the city, property damage is still a real risk in Augusta and the surrounding cities in Georgia and South Carolina. “Augusta is… an ancient, historic community. These older commercial buildings and residences are prone to water damage, mold, and storm damage from the numerous old trees…The dated infrastructure is much more prone to fire damage, while the notorious summer heat and humidity provide a breeding ground for mold problems,” says Allen and Richard.

Despite the risk of property damage, Richard and Allen love this area. They both have strong family ties to Augusta, GA. Richard was born and raised in Augusta and always dreamed of building a company headquartered in his hometown. Allen promised his wife, Mimi, an Augusta native, that they would one day, after Allen’s numerous military deployments, put down roots here. Both partners feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to build a business in a growing community that is such a wonderful place to raise families.

Richard will be managing the day-to-day operations of the business with the assistance of General Manager Bill Welsh. At the same time, Allen continues to function solely as a silent business partner.

Because the area is growing, however, businesses and homeowners may find it difficult to find reliable and timely remediation and reconstruction services. PuroClean of Augusta is filling that gap.

Additionally, Richard and Allen have their own personal experiences with property damage and recognize several important characteristics of an excellent remediation company. PuroClean of Augusta provides them all: a timely response with a sense of urgency; precious and quality work; good communication and consistent follow-through; paramount professionalism from employees and subcontractors.

Rest assured that PuroClean of Augusta will provide superior service for your water damage remediation, fire damage restoration, mold remediation, biohazard cleanup, and reconstruction needs. Call us at (706) 723-8989.
