“Coronavirus” is an umbrella term for many types of viruses that have been known to cause respiratory diseases in both people and animals. The 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19; previously 2019-nCoV) is a new strain that has been recently discovered and publicized worldwide. PuroClean of Western Reserve uses the PuroClean RapidDefense™ system to provide deep mitigation cleaning in areas compromised by a Coronavirus or Influenza outbreak. Using this process, the team at PuroClean of Western Reserve will carefully contain the area and will minimize the risk of pathogens spreading using The Environmental Protection Agency-registered (EPA) products. If there are any lingering odors, our trained technicians will deodorize the area and return your Chardon area property back to its pre-loss condition with empathy and care.
An extremely effective way to limit the spread of the virus is by the deep mitigation cleaning of all touch-point surfaces, as well as the use of EPA-registered disinfectants. This level of cleaning can be done in commercial properties, institutions and residential homes alike. At this time, the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread, causing government leaders and healthcare experts to urge the public to take every available precaution for personal protection. The coronavirus cleaning services we offer assists in reducing contamination risk related to the COVID-19 outbreak. Get in touch with your local PuroClean office for additional information about how we can assist you in the cleaning of your property.
Individuals that are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet) are at the highest risk of spreading COVID-19 in a “person-to-person” manner. Small respiratory droplets caused by coughing or sneezing produce miniscule drops that possibly will land on the nose or mouth or be inhaled into the lungs of another person. This is most commonly how COVID-19 spreads rapidly. Therefore, it is thought that person-to-person is the most common way the disease spreads.
According to the CDC, it may be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object which has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or even their eyes.
We first will come in and provide a full assessment of your office or home. We determine the level of containment needed and discuss the plan of action with you.
When we arrive at your home or business we’ll do a walkthrough to confirm the area is ready for PuroClean’s cleaning services. We will plan the flow of work and perform the tasks as efficiently as possible.
While Puroclean is working on biohazard removal, full attention and adherence to safety, industry, and OSHA standards is very important. Also, our biohazard removal is done by technicians who will wear appropriate protective equipment, also known as PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). The technicians will section off the areas to undergo the cleaning process, using caution so as to protect customers, their families, and PuroClean employees.
First, wearing proper PPE is a requirement. Our cleanup technicians wear a full-face respirator to protect them against infected particles coming in contact with the mucous membranes of the mouth, nose, or eyes. The technicians also wear Biohazard protective coveralls, shoe covers, and Nitrile gloves.
PuroClean’s technicians are fully trained and certified and use hospital grade disinfectant solutions that are EPA-registered. The products include towelettes, containing pharmaceutical ingredients, meeting OSHA’s bloodborne pathogen standards against diseases like the coronavirus and much more that lead to disease. The disinfectant solutions also protect against viruses, tuberculosis, mildew, and mold.
The cleaning materials our technicians typically use include:
Puroclean implements three methods for applying disinfectants. Depending on the circumstances, our workers apply hospital grade, EPA-registered disinfectants in one of these three methods:
Synthetic carpets, rugs, curtains, and upholstery – Our technicians will either clean these items manually or, for machine cleaning, they will use approved disinfectants compatible with the cleaning of textiles and carpets and then extract where applicable.
Natural fabrics, rugs, curtains, and upholstery must be cleaned in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines.
To disinfect clothing, linens and other personal fabrics, the infected articles should be laundered per label instructions. IMPORTANT NOTE: Washing machines need to be disinfected after washing contaminated materials.
Tanned leather materials – We clean these material items by wiping the surfaces with a lightly moistened cloth and disinfectant solutions or disinfectant towelettes.
Suede and Nu-buck leather material – These should be cleaned according to the guidelines of the manufacturer.
Plywood, wood, block, cinder block, concrete and OSB (Oriented Strand Board): Washed by the application of disinfectant solution right on the surface.
HVAC systems: The internal duct surfaces of the HVAC system and components should be cleaned by a licensed HVAC contractor or a duct cleaner who is NADCA certified in accordance with industry standards. Also, externally located ductwork grates, grills, surfaces and registers will be cleaned with disinfectant cleaners.
Our technicians shall make the decision whether further cleaning and deodorization will be performed. However, typically once the infected areas are cleaned and start to dry, the odors will disappear.
We understand that a biohazard event can be stressful and sensitive and must be handled with empathy, care and discretion. PuroClean restoration professionals are fully licensed and certified to follow all applicable laws and standards to remediate incidents safely.
RESPECTFUL: Our certified biohazard cleaning technicians treat every affected area and item respectfully and professionally, as if it were our own.
HIGHEST STANDARDS: PuroClean uses products that are approved to provide protection, prevent contamination and reduce the risk of spreading dangerous pathogens.
ADVANCED CLEANING SYSTEM: PuroClean RapidDefense is an effective procedure that is used to start the disinfection process of public places the most effective way possible. Our system uses sanitizers that help prevent virus and other pathogen-based contamination in areas close by.
Prior to vacating a project location in which the coronavirus had contaminated, the PuroClean staff will perform a full and complete cleansing of all equipment, tools, and PPE that were used for the coronavirus cleanup using an EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant.Per the CDC, Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces are the recommended actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, like coronavirus. Since any surface can be re-contaminated after cleaning, and because the coronavirus is also spread person-to-person, PuroClean’s services are not guaranteed to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html) for more information regarding coronavirus, its spread, and prevention.
