Generosity is at the heart of everything we do. It’s one of the reasons why we love holding our annual food drive and continuing education (CE) courses that benefit our local community. We’re always grateful for everyone who participates and donates. Thanks to their hard work and kindness, our food drive this year was a resounding success!
Learning and Giving
We held our fourth CE course on November 9th, 2023, at the Stables Event Center in Lafayette, led by our talented instructor, Becky Edgren. As always, we added a unique theme for the class; this year, we decided on “Thanks-for-Giving”–Thanksgiving with a twist!
To mix it up, we blended our annual food drive with the course, alongside an exciting prize drawing. CE attendees received one ticket for two grand prize drawings for every nonperishable food item they donated. The prizes included gift cards (including one for Sweet Revolution Bake Shop in downtown Layfayette), wine, and delicious homemade pumpkin rolls, made by our own Jessica Fishero.
At our second class session, we announced the winners, Krissy Denner and Jeff Kremer from Logansport Indiana Farm Bureau! We hope you enjoyed the prizes, and we’re beyond appreciative of your donations.

Attendees at our fourth CE course learned a lot from instructor Becky Edgren.
Taking Our Annual Food Drive to the Max
Our annual agency food drive was also a great success, but we couldn’t have done it without everyone’s extraordinary efforts. This year, we expanded our donation efforts beyond the Lafayette/West Lafayette area. As usual, we sweetened the deal for donors by paying for a special luncheon for the top three winners who donated the most food by weight.
Congratulations to the following winners:
- The Mitchell Agency collected 208 pounds.
- The Ashlie Adsit Agency collected 168 pounds.
- The Montgomery County Farm Bureau and Darrin Butchel Agencies collected 110 pounds together.

We collected several boxes of food donations (L). They barely fit onto our scale for weighing (R).
We were genuinely overwhelmed by the response! With everyone’s help, we collected 735 pounds of food for the Food Finders Food Bank in Lafayette, Indiana. We’re so proud that we could make a difference in our community and touched by the massive display of generosity. Let’s see if we can top it next year!
