PuroClean Emergency Flood and Related Water Damage Restoration Services

Water Removal

    1. The first thing our technicians will do is extract any standing water.
    2. Next, our technicians will remove damaged materials. These materials include baseboards, flooring, tile, insulation, furniture, upholstery, carpeting, carpet padding, fragile wood, drywall, and more.
    3. After the water damaged materials are removed, we use air movers and dehumidifiers to dry and then disinfect the affected areas.
    4. If mold is present, our technicians will disinfect and restore the affected areas as quickly as possible to prevent it from spreading.

Emergency Water Extraction

We begin by extracting any standing water found in your home or business using state of the art equipment, strategically placed to extract all the water from the area.

    1. Step One requires immediate water removal through our advanced pumping machines. Once the water has been extracted, all affected belongings and structures are removed, stored or discarded.
    2. Once the water is extracted, the equipment will be removed and the water will be properly disposed of by the PuroClean technicians.

Drying & Dehumidification

Once all areas requiring this process have been identified, the areas are isolated and prepped for drying and dehumidification.

    1. Removal of belongings and upholstery will be necessary to ensure that the process can be done thoroughly.
    2. When ready, the PuroClean technician will place air movers around the isolated area. Keep in mind that these machines are loud, as the air movers  will be focusing on areas of the house or business that contain moisture, to assist the drying process
    3. Next, the water will be extracted into the air and the air movers and dehumidifiers, as they go through the dehumidification process. All of the water pulled out will be properly disposed of by the PuroClean technician.
    4. To ensure that everything is drying, a PuroClean technician will monitor moisture levels. Once moisture levels are back to normal, any removed items will be placed back to their original locations.

Carpet Restoration

Carpet restoration is the process that PuroClean uses to take your damaged carpet and to restore it to its pre-impacted state.

    1. The first step is to find the source of the water damage as this determines whether or not your carpet is salvageable.
    2. If the findings of step one show that the carpet is salvageable, any remaining water is removed through water extraction.
    3. Then, high-grade air movers will be used to remove the moisture from the carpet to prevent microbial growth
    4. PuroClean technicians will keep you and your insurance agent updated during the drying process.
    5. Once the carpet is dry, all equipment will be removed from the area, and all belongings will be put back into place.

Carpet Cleaning, Deodorization & Spot Removal:

Any carpet that has been affected by water damage, is subject to mildew being formed, which can cause an odor to spread not only in the affected room but throughout the entire home or office.  Any such odors can be removed from your carpet with proper cleaning, deodorization, and/or spot removal.

    1. Our technician will begin with a complete inspection and vacuuming of your carpet.
    2. Then, your furniture will be removed to repair your carpet.
    3. Should the need arise, a spot and pet odor treatment will be done.
    4. Available fiber or textile protection is also available, to protect and prolong the value of your carpet.

Mold & Odor Removal:

We at PuroClean of Coral Gables will tend to your mold damage and ensure your home or business is fully restored by following a strict process that involves:

    1. Starting with performing a mold assessment by delicately inspecting your property for signs of mold. Then we’ll conduct a full mold removal, where we thoroughly remove the mold from the site.
    2. After all the mold is remediated, we will deodorize the site. This includes cleaning and sanitizing the structure, fixtures, and contents
    3. We will then use HEPA Air Filtration and extraction/drying equipment to evaporate water and eliminate moisture.

When the damage remediation is over, you’re often only halfway there. Your property may need repairs and reconstruction to return to its pre-loss condition. We understand the trauma that you and your loved ones are facing. We offer complete reconstruction services, to bring your property back to normal.

Our Reconstruction services range from electrical, drywall, carpentry, painting, flooring, cabinetry, roofing, permit acquisition, replacement or installation, project management or inspections and will depend on the scope of work to be done.

Water Damage Do’s and Don’ts

Repairing water damage is very important, but the safety of all parties is our number one priority. Whether mitigating or restoring water damage, the following tips will help reduce the risk of you suffering a setback due to a rain event, flood, faulty plumbing, leaking AC or roof.

What to Do:

  1. Turn Water Off: Shut down your home’s water supply, and call a plumber for repairs. Use Caution: Watch your step, as floors may be slippery. Also watch for trip and fall hazards, as well as for exposed electrical wires.
  2. Remove Water: Mop up as much water as possible. In cool weather, open windows to speed drying; in hot weather, if safe, switch on your A/C.
  3. Prop Up Upholstery: Remove all loose cushions, and prop up upholstered furniture.
  4. Manage Area Rugs and Obstacles: Remove rugs and pick up any items that may be sitting on the floor.
  5. Dry Storage Containers: Open wet suitcases and storage boxes; and if possible, dry them in the sunlight.
  6. Protect Valuables: Move paintings and other artwork to a safe, dry place.
  7. Dry Clothing: Immediately dry all garments. Hang fur and leather goods to dry at room temperature.
  8. Protect Furniture: Place aluminum foil or plastic under furniture legs on wet carpeting. Open, but do not force, drawers and cabinet doors to dry out interiors.
  9. Call PuroClean Immediately: Call PuroClean of Coral Gables at (305)894-4343. Our trained technicians are highly skilled in water damage restoration.[/lgc_column]

What Not to do

  1. Don’t Use a Vacuum Cleaner: Only use a wet vacuum, which is equipped to handle water. DO NOT USE your regular household vacuum.
  2. Don’t Operate Electrical Appliances: DO NOT USE TVs, radios, computers, ceiling fans or any other electrical appliances while standing on wet carpets or floors, particularly concrete or tile floors.
  3. Don’t Touch Outlets or Plugs: DO NOT PLUG OR UNPLUG any electrical appliances or touch anything that is already plugged in.
  4. Don’t Turn up the Heat: Keep interiors cool, as mold grows in heat and moisture.
