“Coronavirus” is an umbrella term for many types of viruses that have been known to cause respiratory diseases in both people and animals. It has been widely reported that the spread of COVID-19 is caused by individuals who are in close contact with each other (within about 6 feet), through small respiratory droplets that are blown into the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes. The tiny droplets land in the mouths or noses of others who are nearby. It is also possible for these droplets to be inhaled into the lungs. This is why COVID-19 is believed to spread mainly from person-to-person.
There is a possibility that COVID-19 can be spread when someone physically touches an object or surface with the virus present, and then touches their nose or mouth. The CDC confirms that this type of spreading is very likely.
Puroclean technicians will set out to determine what level of containment you will need and speak with you regarding a plan of action. This is the first step they will take when they complete a full assessment of your home or office.
Initially, our technicians arrive at the premises and do a quick walkthrough to ensure that the property is ready for cleaning services. Then, they map out the flow of the work to do the work as efficiently as possible.
It’s imperative that our employees conduct all biohazard removal with the utmost caution and a proper following of OSHA, Industry and safety standards. Our technicians will contain areas, following all appropriate steps to ensure your safety, your family’s safety and the employees safety alike. The well trained technicians will be wearing special Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to conduct biohazard removal as safely as possible.
PPE is a requirement that PuroClean technicians follow thoroughly. While on your job completing our cleaning, our technicians will wear the following: A full-face respirator offers protection from splashes that may contact the mucous membranes in the mouth, nose, or eyes. Our professionals will also wear Nitrile gloves, Biohazard protective coveralls and shoe covers.
Our industry-certified professionals use EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant products, including towelettes, containing pharmaceutical ingredients that meet OSHA’s bloodborne pathogen standard against diseases like the coronavirus and more disease-causing bacteria, viruses, tuberculosis, mold, and mildew.
The typical cleaning materials used by our technicians include:
Puroclean implements three methods for applying disinfectants. Depending on the circumstances, our workers apply hospital grade, EPA-registered disinfectants in one of these three ways:
Synthetic rugs, carpets, curtains and upholstery: PuroClean will clean these items by hand or by machine cleaning. Approved disinfectants for the appropriate cleaning of the textiles and carpet will be applied for the cleaning; extraction will be done where applicable.
Natural fabrics, rugs, curtains, and upholstery must be cleaned in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
Important: Washing machines should always be disinfected after contaminated materials are washed. For the disinfecting of clothing, linens and other personal fabrics, contaminated articles are to be laundered per instructions on each label.
Tanned leather garments – PuroClean will clean these material items by wiping the surfaces with a lightly moistened cloth and disinfectant solutions or disinfectant towelettes.
Nu-buck and suede leather material: These garments are to be cleaned in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines.
Plywood, OSB (oriented strand board), concrete and cinder block: These particular items are cleaned by the application of the disinfectant solution directly on the surface.
HVAC system – HVAC internal components and surfaces of ductwork should be cleaned in accordance with industry guidelines by a licensed HVAC contractor or NADCA certified duct cleaner. External duct surfaces, grills, grates, and registers should be cleaned with a disinfectant solution.
Normally, when the affected area has been cleaned and starts to dry, the odors go away. Our trained professionals will decide, however, whether any more deodorization is required.
We understand that a biohazard event can be sensitive and stressful and must be handled with empathy, care and discretion. PuroClean restoration professionals are fully licensed and certified to follow all applicable laws and standards to remediate incidents safely.
RESPECTFUL: Our certified biohazard cleaning technicians treat every affected area and item professionally and respectfully, as if it were their own.
HIGHEST STANDARDS: PuroClean uses products that are approved to provide protection, prevent contamination and reduce the risk of spreading dangerous pathogens.
ADVANCED CLEANING SYSTEM: PuroClean RapidDefense is an effective procedure that is used to start the sanitization process of public areas in the most effective and safe way possible. Our process uses disinfectants that help prevent virus and other pathogen-based contamination in areas nearby.
Before PuroClean professionals vacate a premises that had been contaminated by the coronavirus, they will completely clean all tools, PPE, and cleaning items that were used while performing coronavirus cleanup, using a hospital-grade, EPA-registered disinfectant.
Per the CDC, Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces are the recommended actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, like coronavirus. Since any surface can be re-contaminated after cleaning, and because the coronavirus is also spread person-to-person, PuroClean’s services are not guaranteed to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html) for more information regarding coronavirus, its spread, and prevention.
