“Coronavirus” is an umbrella term for many types of viruses that have been known to cause respiratory diseases in both people and animals. The 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19; previously 2019-nCoV) is a new strain that has been recently discovered and publicized worldwide. PuroClean Disaster Services of Northbrook uses the PuroClean RapidDefense™ system to provide deep mitigation cleaning in areas compromised by a Coronavirus or Influenza outbreak. Using this process, the team at PuroClean Disaster Services of Northbrook will carefully contain the area and will minimize the risk of pathogens spreading using The Environmental Protection Agency-registered (EPA) products. If there are any lingering odors, our trained technicians will deodorize the area and return your Northbrook, IL area property back to its pre-loss condition with empathy and care.
The coronavirus pandemic is still spreading and government leaders and health experts continue to urge all individuals to follow strict and particular measures for protection. PuroClean’s Northbrook, IL coronavirus cleaning procedures help reduce COVID-19 outbreak related contamination. We are currently doing deep mitigation cleaning of all touch-point surfaces, and also using disinfectants that are EPA registered. Our Northbrook COVID-19 cleaning services are available for any commercial, residential, industrial and institutional customers. Get in touch with PuroClean soon to find out more about our COVID-19 cleaning services and more.
The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person. This includes between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet) and through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of individuals who are nearby or can also be inhaled into the lungs.
As stated by the CDC, there is a possibility that someone can contract COVID-19 by touching a surface or object where the virus exists and then placing their hand on their own mouth, nose, or even their eyes.
We first will come in and provide a full assessment of your office or home. We decide on the level of containment required and discuss the plan of action with you.
Initially, Puroclean technicians will arrive at your home or business and conduct a preliminary inspection to check that the area is ready for our cleaning services. Afterwards the workflow is determined by PuroClean, in order to complete the project as quickly as possible.
While Puroclean is performing biohazard removal, full attention and adherence to safety, industry, and OSHA standards is highly important. Also, our biohazard removal is done by technicians who will wear appropriate protective equipment, also known as PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). PuroClean will section off the areas to undergo the cleaning process, using caution so as to protect customers, their families, and PuroClean employees.
All of our trained technicians are required to wear PPE. The protective equipment includes a full-face respirator that provides protection from any type of splashes contacting the mucous membranes in the mouth, nose, and eyes. Also, our technicians wear Biohazard protective coveralls, Nitrile gloves, and shoe covers.
PuroClean’s technicians are industry-certified and use hospital grade disinfectant products that are EPA-registered. The products include towelettes, containing pharmaceutical substances, meeting OSHA’s bloodborne pathogen requirements against diseases like the coronavirus and much more that cause disease. The disinfectant solutions also protect against viruses, tuberculosis, mildew, and mold.
The cleaning materials commonly used by our technicians include:
Puroclean implements three methods when using these disinfectants. Depending on the circumstances, our workers apply hospital grade, EPA-registered disinfectants in one of these three ways:
Synthetic curtains, upholstery and rugs: Our professionals will thoroughly clean these items manually or apply appropriate disinfectants for machine cleaning for these carpets and textiles and perform extraction where necessary.
Natural fabrics, rugs, curtains, and upholstery should be cleaned in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
To disinfect clothing, linens and other personal fabrics, the contaminated articles should be laundered per label instructions. NOTE: washing machines should be disinfected after washing contaminated materials.
Tanned leather materials – We can clean these materials by wiping the surfaces with a cloth lightly moistened with disinfectant solution or disinfectant towelettes.
Nu-buck and suede leather material: These items are to be cleaned in accordance with the manufacturer’s instruction.
Concrete, cinder block, wood, plywood, and oriented strand board (OSB) – Cleaned by applying the disinfectant solution directly onto the surface.
HVAC systems: The internal duct surfaces of the HVAC system and components should be cleaned by a licensed HVAC contractor or a duct cleaner who is NADCA certified in accordance with industry guidelines. Additionally, externally located ductwork grates, grills, surfaces and registers are to be cleaned with disinfectant solution.
It is common for the bad smell to dissipate when the infected areas are cleaned and begin to dry. However, our trained professionals will decide if further cleaning and deodorization is required.
We understand that a biohazard event can be sensitive and stressful and must be handled with empathy, care and discretion. PuroClean restoration professionals are fully licensed and certified to follow all applicable laws and standards to remediate incidents safely.
RESPECTFUL: Our biohazard cleaning technicians treat every affected area and item respectfully and professionally, as if it were our own.
HIGHEST STANDARDS: PuroClean uses products that are approved to provide protection, reduce the likelihood of spreading pathogens and prevent contamination.
ADVANCED CLEANING SYSTEM: Our RapidDefense system sanitizes and even reduces virus and other pathogen-based contamination in nearby areas. This is an innovative process we use in order to sanitize public areas the most effective way possible.
EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant will be used to clean all tools, equipment and PPE that was used during the coronavirus cleanup. Before leaving the location that had been contaminated with the coronavirus we will conduct this meticulous cleaning.
Per the CDC, Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces are the recommended actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, like coronavirus. Since any surface can be re-contaminated after cleaning, and because the coronavirus is also spread person-to-person, PuroClean’s services are not guaranteed to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html) for more information regarding coronavirus, its spread, and prevention.
