We bring a sense of calm back to those impacted, whether the loss is in a home, commercial property, or business office.

Address Airborne and Surface Contamination

We inactivate Coronavirus COVID-19 via a unique fogging (room temperature misting) system that addresses airborne and surface contaminations. The fogging solution inactivates the coronavirus on contact, both airborne and on surfaces. Our materials are non-toxic to people and pets; re-entry after 1-2 hours. We can treat homes, businesses, retail stores, government offices, libraries, schools, retirement homes, churches, daycare centers, stores, gyms, transit vehicles, cruise liners, and more.

Testing

The coronavirus is considered easy to deactivate when it is airborne or resting on a surface. Everyday soap and water are deemed adequate on surfaces. Our 2-part solution delivered as a fog/mist is thus an effective disinfectant for this virus, be it airborne or on surfaces. Pre- and post-testing is done with an ATP meter; its primary use in the foodservice industry, yet has application in other industries, including property remediation. Test results are provided with our cleaning report to provide supporting documentation that thorough cleaning has been performed.

Compassionate Service

We are a part of the community and offer a reduced fee service during this critical period. Call for an estimate – hardship discounts are available. There are no added fees for after-hours services when it’s needed (i.e. for businesses).

Bob Jordan shares about PuroClean Northwest’s response to the COVID-19 crisis.

“Coronavirus” is an umbrella term for many types of viruses that have been known to cause respiratory diseases in both people and animals. The 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19; previously 2019-nCoV) is a new strain that has been recently discovered and publicized worldwide. Human Coronavirus COVID-19 infections can be transmitted by airborne or surface contact:

  • Through the air by coughing and sneezing
  • Close personal contact, such as touching or shaking hands
  • Touching contaminated surfaces, then touching the mouth, nose, or eyes

PuroClean Northwest’s Coronavirus Cleaning FAQ:

Is your fogging system EPA registered?

Yes, our system meets the EPA Criteria (emerging pathogens claim) to be effective against Coronavirus-Wuhan (COVID-19).

Where can I get this system?

Not available to the general public. It is a patented biohazard-specific chemistry system originally developed by a national laboratory for the US military. PuroClean Northwest is trained in the proper use and handling of all materials and equipment.

Can you only wipe down high-contact surfaces to save costs over fogging?

Wiping down every surface is labor intensive and thus doubles and even triples the cost per square foot while not providing the complete protection of fogging –

  1. The volume airspace: fogging inactivates airborne Coronavirus (not addressed in wipe down only)
  2. General surfaces: fogging results in our chemistry precipitating onto and subsequently covering all horizontal surfaces; we also direct our fogging under desks, tables, chairs, etc., to provide even more surface coverage (addressed partially in a wipe down)
  3. High Contact Surfaces: door knobs, filing cabinet handles, toilet handles, sink fixtures, etc., are wiped down with our same chemistry after fogging (this is addressed in a wipe down)

What preparation do I need to do before a fogging treatment?

There should be no open food containers, no loose papers on desks, no pets or aquariums, remove or cover children toys and pet toys, people vacated. We require the HVAC system be turned off during treatment, then we turn it on after treatment. Smoke detectors should be temporarily disabled. Our team will wear PPE (personal protective equipment) suits, respirators, and gloves.

What happens if someone comes into our area the day after you leave and they have the Coronavirus?

The PuroClean Northwest Terminal Cleaning Fogging Service will inactivate all Coronavirus on our initial visit. There is a residual positive effect after treatment as the disinfectant rests on all surfaces, remaining for a period of time after we leave.

It is common to have the Terminal Cleaning done quarterly, with maintenance of high-contact surfaces handled by local staff or personnel daily, while observing all general normal precautions. This is a good balance between cost and risk.

Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces are the recommended actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, like coronavirus. Since any surface can be re-contaminated after cleaning, and because the coronavirus is also spread person-to-person, PuroClean’s services are not guaranteed to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html) for more information regarding coronavirus, its spread, and prevention.

What we know about how COVID-19 spreads

Person-to-Person Spread

It has been publicly announced that the spread of COVID-19 is caused by individuals who are in close contact with each other (within about 6 feet), through the projected respiratory droplets that are blown into the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes. The tiny droplets land in the mouths or noses of others who are nearby. It is also possible for these droplets to be inhaled into the lungs. This is why COVID-19 is believed to spread most commonly from person-to-person.

Spread from contact with contaminated surfaces or objects

It may be possible for someone to get the COVID-19 virus after touching a surface with the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or eyes. The CDC confirms the possibility of the disease being spread in this manner.
