“Coronavirus” is an umbrella term for many types of viruses that have been known to cause respiratory diseases in both people and animals. The 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19; previously 2019-nCoV) is a new strain that has been recently discovered and publicized worldwide. PuroClean of Rhode Island uses the PuroClean RapidDefense™ system to provide deep mitigation cleaning in areas compromised by a Coronavirus or Influenza outbreak. Using this process, the team at PuroClean of Rhode Island will carefully contain the area and will minimize the risk of pathogens spreading using The Environmental Protection Agency-registered (EPA) products. If there are any lingering odors, our trained technicians will deodorize the area and return your Providence, RI area property back to its pre-loss condition with empathy and care.
Since the coronavirus pandemic keeps growing rapidly, health and government leaders are publicly addressing the world daily, asking that all people practice the safe means necessary to protect themselves. A very effective method to slow the infection rate is by the performance of deep mitigation cleaning of all touch-point surfaces, along with using EPA-registered disinfectants. These specialized cleaning procedures can be beneficial for institutions, commercial, and residential properties. PuroClean’s Providence, RI coronavirus cleaning services can help drastically reduce contamination related to the COVID-19 outbreak. Call your local PuroClean professionals for more information on our cleaning procedures.
It has been widely reported that the spread of COVID-19 is caused by individuals who are in close contact with each other (within about 6 feet), through small respiratory droplets that are blown into the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes. The tiny droplets land in the mouths or noses of others who are nearby. It is also possible for these droplets to be inhaled into the lungs. This is why COVID-19 is believed to spread mainly from person-to-person.
As stated by the CDC, there is a possibility that someone can contract COVID-19 by touching a surface or object with the virus on it and then placing their hand on their own mouth, nose, or even their eyes.
PuroClean will initially conduct a complete assessment of your home or office. PuroClean will then make a determination on the amount of containment required and discuss with you the plan of action.
PuroClean technicians will arrive at your home or business and perform an initial walkthrough to confirm that the property is ready for our cleaning. The technicians will map out a plan for the flow of work and conduct the full cleaning as effectively as possible.
It is important to perform biohazard abatement with special attention to safety and industry and OSHA standards. Our trained technicians wear special Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to keep themselves safe. They also contain the area, taking the needed steps to keep you and your family or employees out of harm’s way as well.
PPE is required to be worn by our cleanup technicians. This equipment consists of Nitrile gloves, shoe covers, Biohazard protective coveralls, and a full-face respirator. The full face mask provides protection against splashing that would possibly reach the mucous membranes in the eyes, nose and mouth
Our extensively trained and certified technicians use EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant products, including towelettes, with pharmaceutical ingredients that meet OSHA’s bloodborne pathogen standard against diseases like COVID-19 and other disease-causing bacteria, viruses, tuberculosis, mold, and mildew.
The typical cleaning materials used by our technicians include:
Puroclean implements three methods for applying disinfectants. Depending on the circumstances, technicians apply hospital grade, EPA-registered disinfectants in one of these three methods:
Synthetic rugs, carpets, curtains and upholstery: Our Technicians will clean these items manually or by machine cleaning. Approved disinfectants for the appropriate cleaning of the textiles and carpet will be applied for the cleaning; extraction will be done where needed.
Natural fabrics, rugs, curtains, and upholstery must be cleaned in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines.
Important: Washing machines should always be disinfected after contaminated items are washed. For the disinfecting of clothing, linens and other personal fabrics, contaminated articles are to be laundered following instructions on each label.
Tanned leather materials – We clean these material items by wiping the surfaces with a lightly moistened towel and disinfectant solutions or disinfectant towelettes.
Suede and Nu-buck leather material – Cleaned according to manufacturer’s guidelines.
Plywood, OSB (oriented strand board), concrete and cinder block: These particular items are cleaned by the application of the disinfectant solution directly on the surface.
HVAC systems: The internal duct surfaces of the HVAC system and components should be cleaned by a licensed HVAC contractor or a duct cleaner who is NADCA certified in accordance with industry standards. Also, externally located ductwork grates, grills, surfaces and registers will be cleaned with disinfectant solution.
It is common for odors to dissipate when the affected areas are clean and begin to dry. However, our trained professionals will decide if more cleaning and deodorization is required.
We understand that a biohazard event can be stressful and sensitive and must be handled with empathy, care and discretion. PuroClean restoration professionals are fully licensed and certified to follow all applicable laws and standards to remediate incidents safely.
RESPECTFUL: Our experienced biohazard cleaning technicians treat every affected area and item professionally and respectfully, as if it were our own.
HIGHEST STANDARDS: PuroClean uses proven products approved to provide protection, prevent contamination and reduce the risk of spreading dangerous pathogens.
ADVANCED CLEANING SYSTEM: PuroClean RapidDefense is an effective procedure used to start the sanitization process of public areas in the most effective and safe way possible. Our system uses sanitizers that help prevent virus and other pathogen-based contamination in areas nearby.
Prior to vacating a project site in which the coronavirus had affected, the PuroClean technicians will perform a extensive and complete washing of all equipment, tools, and PPE that were used for the coronavirus cleanup using an EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant.
Per the CDC, Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces are the recommended actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, like coronavirus. Since any surface can be re-contaminated after cleaning, and because the coronavirus is also spread person-to-person, PuroClean’s services are not guaranteed to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html) for more information regarding coronavirus, its spread, and prevention.
