PuroClean of Redmond/Woodinville proudly supports Step It Up Camp and its incredible founder.
At PuroClean of Redmond/Woodinville, we believe in the power of community and the importance of giving back. We actively seek out individuals who embody our core values of Excellence, Teamwork, Integrity, and Giving Back—and in Maurice Leary, we’ve found a shining example.
His incredible work with Step It Up Camp makes him the perfect fit for PuroClean Cares Superhero Campaign, and we’re honored to support him and his mission.
A Dream Realized: Maurice’s Path to Becoming a Hero
Maurice’s story is a powerful testament to resilience and the lasting impact one person can have on their community. Growing up in a challenging New York neighborhood as one of six siblings in the foster care system, Maurice dreamed of becoming a superhero—not the comic book kind, but someone who lifts others up and creates lasting change.
Being selected as our superhero was a deeply emotional moment for Maurice. It brought him to tears—not for the recognition itself, but for what it represented: a reflection of his hard work, perseverance, and the many lives he’s touched. This honor is more than a title—it’s the realization of a life dedicated to service.
Step It Up Camp: A Lifeline for Local Youth
For more than 12 years, Maurice has led Step It Up Camp, a nonprofit organization that provides vital support to underserved youth across King and Snohomish Counties. His mission is about empowerment—creating safe, inclusive spaces where kids can grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
Maurice’s work creates more than just opportunities. It creates transformation.
Some standout Step It Up Camp initiatives include:
- Step It Up 2 Tech – Teaching digital literacy to prepare youth for a tech-driven world
- Latino Club – Supporting Latino youth and families with culturally relevant programs
- V.I.P. Day with Nike – Giving children in temporary homeless shelters a day of shopping, dignity, and joy
- F.i.M (Feet in Motion) – Promoting fitness, wellness, and volunteerism for well-rounded personal growth
Looking Ahead: Empowering the Next Generation

Maurice isn’t slowing down anytime soon. One exciting upcoming initiative includes a field trip to PuroClean of Redmond/Woodinville’s warehouse at the start of the next school year, giving Step It Up Camp participants a behind-the-scenes look at careers in the trades.
It’s a unique opportunity to expose youth to real-world skills and career paths they may never have considered—and to show them that success looks different for everyone.
At PuroClean of Redmond/Woodinville, we are honored to support Maurice and share in his mission to uplift and inspire. His leadership, empathy, and integrity perfectly align with our own commitment to community and service.
